Saytek is back on his Cubism imprint this June with the ‘Live (not) on Tour’ release featuring five tracks taken from live streams over last year. 

Over the past few years, UK artist, Saytek (aka Joseph Keevill) has carved himself a reputation as one of the electronic music scene's most innovative live acts thanks to his impressive improvised shows. 

Saytek has been described by Cox as "Absolute Genius when it comes to live" - a sentiment echoed by his fans and many across the industry due to his mastery of machines (including analogue synths, sequencers and drum machines) combined with unique energy and an ear for melody. His sound is broad and genre-defying, taking listeners on a journey through underground house, acid & techno that is tough yet intricate and deep. Saytek's esteemed "Live On Tour" series features an accumulation of live tracks recorded at shows over the years and has been met with acclaim from Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber and John Digweed, who all supported on their renowned radio shows. 

Due to the pandemic, "Live On Tour" was brought to a close, but this period has led to Saytek creating more live material than ever with various live streams performed over the last year. Saytek is keen to keep releases flowing on Cubism, so the tracks on offer here were recorded live during Saytek's streams and edited out with next to no post-production. 

The five tracks display Saytek's energetic production prowess with uplifting atmospheres, rolling grooves and invigorating synthesis featuring throughout the cuts. 

Saytek ‘Live (not) on Tour’ is out via Cubism on 26th May 2021.

For the 32nd edition of ‚as usual.music‘ releases we are hitting back with some more Italian quality works from Milano. JACO is the man of the moment and definitely not a stranger anymore in the minimal/deeptech scene, as he pushed his musical fingerprint on a bunch of labels in this genre since 2013. By gaining experiences on imprints like DPE, Innocent, Whoyostro, Tip Tap and many more, he refined his skills for brilliant sound aestethics and is landing now here with a three tracker.

All three tracks are basically injected by a techy underlay touch and evidently dancefloor-orientated. „Sorry out of stock“ luckily can’t happen with our digital releases, but better you grab it before it’s „Sold Out“. That’s the title of the first track and activates the beads of sweat. It scores with bottom-up synth slices, as well as a gentle voice in the breaks. Super catchy, try it out.  For the second tune we go strictly for Deeptech in its best form called „Tek & Scratch“. And as the title says, it contains some skilled scratch interludes till it bumps, or rather until the last break’s vocal says „Enough of this“. Third track is for all no-sleepers, and all the ones who sometimes need a reminder „My Son Don’t Sleep“. So you better stay in the darkness and get ready for these club-ready and dance-stimulating tunes. But don’t forget your mask and say Hello to Jaco.
