The Basic Moves Of … OSCAR FAIVRE (live at Hoppetosse/The Joint 2025)

The next episode of our mix series is from Oscar Faivre, recorded at the legendary Hoppetosse boat in Berlin during The Joint party back in May 2025. Oscar opened with a long deejay set, setting the vibe for the night. This French-but-now-Berlin-based record lover masters the craftsmanship of a warm-up set like no other. In a world where dance music becomes faster and instantly flashy, Oscar takes the opposite direction, and during that night he took us on a journey into deep, honest house music of all kinds, not shy to play grooves with colours and richly-arranged tracks. 
Oscar is an architect by day; you can hear this in his carefully curated track selection and overall flow of the recording. Teamed up with his friend Eltous, he runs Tunnel, the record label and event. With only two records out, they have defined a modern deep house sound rooted in authenticity and history. Good things take time, and Oscar is in no rush. Let’s take time together and enjoy the ride.

For the second episode of the series, we have the pleasure of sharing a much expected recording by the ever dreamy https://soundcloud.com/alexiavanm.   

The style of spontaneity doesn’t fall far from the tree within the tunnel family. As for our first one by Mac, we love the way Alexia's mix happened. One morning in Berlin, after coming back from her set at Hoppetosse, feeling inspired and energised by the afterglow of that night, she thought that it could be a good moment to record something. She flipped a coin, trusted her gut feeling, and started playing.

 The result is this two hour long treat of a trip, moving flawlessly between party energies and introspective phases. No overthinking here, it is just the pure and genuine expression of Alexia’s personality : playful and fun, deep and sensitive ; a hypnotic tunnel where warm waves of love wrap your heart, and where weird voices, quirky electronic creatures and tripped out rhythms take your spirit away.   

We are specially fond of this mix, and of how we recognise our dear friend in it.
