UMEK’s record label, 1605, welcomes a devastatingly powerful peak time techno EP from MOTVS.

MOTVS is an Italian artist making his 1605 debut following releases on other respected techno record labels such as T78’s Autektone Records, Cosmic Boy’s Legend and Spartaque’s Codex. He is also the co-founder of Exetra Records which has been a regular outlet for his enthralling style of techno.

He is a veteran producer who has been releasing music under various aliases for over a decade. MOTVS style is a fusion of high-speed percussion and enrapturing synth lines that are shrouded in a menacing atmosphere.

“DNA” opens the release with its bone-rattling bassline and thrashing high-end percussion that’s underpinned by a slamming kick drum. It builds towards a tantalising breakdown with a thought-provoking vocal sample that builds suspense before the track erupts with electrifying synth stabs.

“Automa” has a pulsating bassline and lurching synth textures that combine with fast-paced percussion rhythms and eerie vocals that add to the track’s ominous atmosphere. Taking no prisoners, it’s got an unstoppable momentum that’s ready to set the dance floor alight.

Marcin Bociański aka Marboc is a techno DJ and producer based in Gdańsk, Poland, with a career spanning nearly two decades. He has also recently become a lecturer at the Institute of Sound in Gdansk. More than 15 years of musical experience have resulted in finding his long-awaited place on earth in the form of a sound that combines the speed of rhythmic percussion with subtle backgrounds and an engaging industrial bass line. His productions over the years have graced labels such as Diffuse Reality, CMND CTRL and Coded Platform, to name a few. His debut release on our roster is an impressive 4 tracker called 'Calculus EP'.

Italian club staple and producer Kaiser turns to MOC for his Debris EP, showcasing three agile Techno slices and a remix from Exploration Records chief Johannes Volk.

“Parachute” opens up the release in a spellbinding, energy-heavy manner, with its whirlwind groove and lead taking no prisoners. Next up is “Debris”, showing off an equally energetic prowess channeling zig zagging synths and a more melodic, yet still heavy strung bassline. “Esplosione Di Colori”, translated as ‘color explosion’ aptly translates into sound what is usually only possible for a paint canvas. A lighthearted, arpegio-ridden track in original, Johannes Volk works his magic, turning it into a versatile piece of raw, dubby Techno.

Techno pioneer Robert Hood debuts on Rekids with a blistering release entitled ‘Nothing Stops Detroit’ ahead of an album this winter.

Over the last three decades the Underground Resistance alum has continually been at the forefront of the techno genre whilst releasing on many of electronic music’s finest labels to boot. In recent years his solo outings have appeared on a select few labels such as Dekmantel, Music Man Records, not to mention his very own M-Plant. Having made appearances on Rekids in the past remixing label boss Radio Slave - both as Robert Hood (‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’) and Floorplan (‘Feel The Same’) - the Detroit originator now drops a four track release in his official debut on the label.

With its machine aesthetic, ‘Nothing Stops Detroit’ is unmistakably Hood from start to finish. Precision kick drums propel the title track forward as stuttering effects and deep stabs work alongside a march band rhythm. ‘7 Mile Dog’ is next with its grainy synths and scintillating pads, making way for the meandering bassline, rattling atmospherics and trippy, oscillating top line of ‘Ignite A War’. Finally, ‘The Cure’ is a cacophony of twisted percussion and rumbling low-end that energetically concludes matters.

Say What? is the next stage for the prolific producer Ramon Tapia. The label is to serve as home to techno productions, backed with remixes from high-profile artists.
