Our second release of the year comes courtesy of SA based @emamkay. It features a mix of Hip Hop, R&B and different electronic styles.

The full project drops next Wednesday, but until then here's the first single 'Nuse.'

Emamkay had this to say about the release - "ALPHA is my second project and comes  in collaboration with UK indie label Shimmy Records. Compared to its predecessor THETA EP (which was self-relesed) I’ve decided to explore and augment the electronic and experimental elements to this project. The EP also features a space-age hip hop sound, which some people describe as my ‘signature sound.’

I currently live in Soweto where I have a home studio setup. I enjoy music with lose structure. That’s why Flying Lotus, John Coltrane - whom I sampled on a track called Trane, Soul Quarrians and Norvis Jr are my current influences.
I’ve added aspects of my personality to this project using skits and surreal interludes. This gives the project more life, and projects my sonic ambitions."
