TL PREMIERE : Gravedad Cinética - Mecanismos [Diffuse Reality Records]

Newly launched Dutch electro label LDI Records follows up their first release from T/Error with a deep and dark four track EP by French producer Franck Kartell.

In a homage to masterful science fiction writer Philip K Dick - Side A of Electric Sheep EP evokes scenes from future mechanised worlds. Electric Sheep kicks the 12” off with a melancholic and contemplative moment followed by a steel cold and brooding venture in Voigt-Kampff.

On the B side of this release, there is a live mix of Kartell's track Electro Music, a futuristic electro work out with kicks for the dancefloor. The EP completes with Victoria - an ode to the electronic musician Victoria Lukas who passed away in 2020 - with a beautifully poised and contemplative track steeped in synths.

Franck Kartell is a French producer who has releases on Between Places, Transient Force, Ukonx Recordings, New Flesh, Bass Agenda and others. Since 2005 he has been producing well thought-out electro music filled with dark atmospheres and driving rhythms.

Specialising in moody, atmospheric electro, LDI Records (Lloyd’s Dark Imperium) are an essential label to watch. Distributed worldwide by Clone Distribution, while the Dutch label’s main focus is on vinyl releases, available in selected record shops across the globe, releases will also be available digitally.

Fizzling the borders between different worlds of music, Berlin-based musician, Serge Geyzel originates from a classical and jazz music background.
Born in Saratov, Russia, the musician dedicated 12 years of his life to the study of classical music, with a specific focus on the piano.

New directions in life and music arrived with a move to Israel in 1999 where he fell in love with the jazz scene. It was here that he embarked upon a new journey, studying jazz piano at the Jerusalem Music Academy while playing gigs with his trio and other various ensembles.

His fascinating experience transported him from a background of traditional music into the limitless world of electronic music production as he began to experiment with software for creating new sounds. 
An exceptional standard of music production has been the end result.

Starting from 2009 till today, Serge Geyzel was invited to play live on major Electronic music venues and Festivals across Europe. His debut release - a split vinyl EP alongside Autosim came out on Arkada Records in March 2019, as well as his first solo album ''Black mirrors'' on Battery Park Studio in June 2019.

His recent releases include the album ''Victims of Delete'' on Specimenrecords, ’’Blurry Vision EP'' on the American imprint Science Cult as well as the split EP ''Escape from Andromeda'' - a collaboration with Errorbbeauty on the dutch Zodiak Commune Records.

Since moving to Berlin in 2014, exploring the tendencies of electronic music in town, influencing his very own sound, Serge Geyzel combines his affinity to the early 2000’s electronica with the aesthetics of electro and dark ambient colors in his current music production.

Preferably using analog synthesizers and drum machine, as well as field recordings and self-recorded acoustic instrument samples, the musical result is being a combination of poetic layers and heavy electro beats.

Alongside the solo production under his own name and the alias Hostage, Serge Geyzel is currently working on a collaboration project with one of the most remarkable dj's and producers of today's electro scene - Errorbeauty. Their tracks have been already released on labels such as Section 27, Crobot Muzik, Pyramid Transmissions, Outlaw 303 and Zodiak Commune Records.

Serge Geyzel continues to live, compose and perform live music in the city of Berlin.

British Electro veteran Bass Junkie returns for his second vinyl outing on Bass Agenda Recordings, this time with a full-length album.

As his last release, ‘Low Frequency Fugitive’ indicated, he has been working hard on developing his trademark sound and taking things forward; no mean feat for someone who has been ahead of his time since he began releasing Electro in the mid-nineties. He has succeeded though and everything he is loved and respected for is here, plus some advanced structures and elements – Bass Junkie evolved – a true Sub Sonic Survivor.

The harder edge is here in tracks such as ‘Blast Them to Infinity!’ and the insanely hard kick of ‘Star Destroyer’. His funkier side shines through too, in tracks like the shimmering space funk of ‘Rum and Raspberries’. For fans of his exceptional vocal work there are treats in store too, particularly in the aggressive attack on the modern state of things that is ‘Reset’.

"Scientists. White lab coats. The whirr of computers. SC-164 was a sonic experiment. Greg Schappert, an electronic musician known as Donor, was the willing subject. Its purpose? To melt man and computer in audio form, machine music created by an artificial being. But soon it became too powerful, self aware. The creators tried to pull the plug. They were too late. Now this assailant floats from machine to machine, communicating its message through serrated snares and bruising bass. SC-164 was cast aside by its makers. Now the project has one objective, to corrupt circuitboards and speakers with an infectious strain of corrosive electro."
