so, let's just say i'm not the biggest fan of jump up.

i thought i'd test myself by trying to incorporate as many of the things i dislike in dnb as possible into a track and spin it with my flavour to see if i could make something i still enjoyed.

i have mixed feelings...

he inboxed me and i got back to him fast, of course, as we've collaborated in the past.

i asked him for stems, but then confused myself into believing the challenge was to work without them, so i got cookin'. 

as i was finalising the track i got a message with a link to the stems i requested. he has since added this link to his challenge call-out.
oh well. can't win 'em all, i guess. serves me right for being impatient.

either way, here it is - my remix of 'Dark Dimension', pulled together with nothing but the unbroken wave of atmos and ambience that was on offer in the initial free download.

i'd like to thank the film Event Horizon from 1997 for scaring every fathomable fuck entirely out of me at my friend's house at age 14 or some such shit, then haunting me so severely i compulsively rewatched it over the next 20 years on multiple occasions, slowly burning the terror in further and further.

anyway, here's a track for Name Your Price download titled 'event horizon' - an exercise in sonic sci-fi horror for Friendly Fire 2025 [what once was Jungle Wars, reborn...]

if the above monologue is not enough of an indicator as to how fucking sent i was after every viewing of said cult-classic jump-scare clusterfuck, then let the amenism and choppage coupled with the complete lack of melodic texture in this track aside from a crumbly and distorted reese bass be testament to my weak constitution for horror cinema.
