Liquid Phonk present another truly sophisticated soulful house groover, a fine, timeless release for delicate dancers and music lovers including lush remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sanger and John Gazoo.

Since the turn of the millennium Liquid Phonk has stood for proper house productions. Over many hours of countless studio sessions Mirko Koenig and Patrick Lesser from the South- West of Germany have formed their very own style and sound.
Their first public appearance was on Patrick Lindsey’s former label “School Records” back in 2000 followed by further EPs until 2004.

After it was getting quiet around Mirko and Patrick, they raised Liquid Phonk back to the surface. Rainer Trueby took notice of their releases on Nick Humphrey’s label “Lifted Digital” and managed a split-release alongside the Cologne producer Sello on “Compost Black Label” in 2012 with their track “Heart & Soul”. Several releases and remixes followed on labels such as Ingo Sänger’s “Farside Records”, “Lost My Dog” and “Something Different”. With the “hardboogie-remix” of Shahrokh Dini’s track “Bechno”, Liquid Phonk returned to Compost Black Label in 2015. In 2016 they are starting with their first solo EP on this label, supported by two stunning remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sänger and John Gazoo.

Phantasy unveiled Future Four, the exciting new alter ego of Andy Meecham: the brains and brawn, behind The Emperor Machine, Bizarre Inc and Chicken Lips. The debut EP release was titled 'This Is The Sound Of Future Four', a trio of tracks that paid homage to the raw, unfiltered and brazen warehouse sounds of the early 90s, brilliantly harnessing the hedonistic spirit of electronic music of the early 1990s

The original tracks ('Gwad Bwash', 'Into Orbit', 'Phase 2') were created from the original sound sets from the 90s, discovered on a series of old S950 an MPC60 floppy disks. Erol Alkan persuaded Andy to revisit and reconstruct, mixing down the tracks himself to form a partnership that has now seen the Phantasy boss officially the join the act. Two into four always works!

Support for the original EP from a wide selection of DJ talent including TEED, Daniel Avery, Justin Martin, Breach, Ben Sims, Norman Nodge, Trevino, Skream, Scuba, Duke Dumont and many many more.

For this remix EP Phantasy have drafted in some serious talent to give their own visions of the mighty originals. First up, the ever on-point and hugely in demand duo of Gerd Janson & Phillip Lauer. Under their Tuff City Kids guise the pair take on the fearsome 'Gwad Bwash' and whilst the reigns are initially tight enough just to allow the keys to groove away, soon the beast can be held no longer and the synth riff raises the roof and arms in unison.

Initially accompanying the original promo package, the Dark Circles remix of 'Into Orbit' was just too good not to give another airing. This beautiful bass beacon shines bright as its piano riff calls out. We've seen this track take the roof off. Already a firm favourite with the likes of Annie Mac, Fake Blood and Will Saul we're keen to see its genre-crossing light shine further still.

DFA and Gomma artist Jacques Renault makes his Phantasy debut on his remix of 'Phase Two'. Dominated by its synth melody and underpinned by its bubbling acid line the fresh new take from the Washington native is pure party music in the finest sense of the word.

Great to see profilic dutch producer Nachtbraker (Heist, Quartet Series) on the label too. We love his style and he will soon be as popular as Ajax Amsterdam! His subtle and dirty “Bronco” fits in perfectly. The definitive club tune that grooves and grooves and grooves comes from Ponty Mython (Dirt Crew). Alexandr is a cool guy and this is defo a cool tune. Last but not least is Soul of Hex (Freerange, Vicario). Our mexican friend is going very raw this time. Yes, why not call it electronic body music (remember?)! As we are gentlemen, we added a Quintessentials sticker in the vinyl edition. Go and get it!
