Another experiment with break beats.  This is one of the first recordings I did on the EWI 4000s in EVI fingering mode using Patchman Musics excellent analog synth patch. The second solo is done using a violin sound from the Yamaha VL1m or VL70m. This is a nice example of how expressive sounds can be with good programming to respond to a controller (thanks Patchman!)

I am playing all the horn parts on EVI using the Dynasample Xpression.  All instruments electronic, including the drums.

Notes:  We cut the horn part in half to give more space.  Also this is an instrumental version, so we had to make some changes to accommodate a non-vocal arrangement.

If The Coal's Wet

This is an experiment I did with a track provided to me by the excellent Chris Flynn and the superb band Flintheart. Go see these guys!

I added a few tracks to give it a bit of a different feel. The sax line is meant to be uplifting and represent "youth". The eerie theremin sound is the counter symbolism to represent "waste".

Running With Juno

A quick groove to test a soft synth plugin I am helping with. This one uses three synth sounds  (one using the new plug, the other using another synth) trading off with some organ hits thrown in for extra funk. Synths: EVI-Ner (beta), Respiro

I am an EVI Player (Electronic Valve Instrument)  out of the Greater NYC area that mostly plays live around the Eastern Seaboard area.  I like to experiment with recordings from time to time and these are a few of my little projects and recordings of live jams over the years.  Having been a trumpet player prior to becoming a cyborg horn player.  I like jazz, blues, funk and soul, but also like to explore electronic music due to the advanced capabilities of the EVI.
