🎹 Hillpunk est né d’une petite série de morceaux électro où j’ai laissé pas mal de place aux claviers (Rhodes, nappes perchées, progressions lentes).
Ça commence très psyché / progressif, avec une montée qui ne s’arrête jamais, un peu comme dans le post-rock. Mais attention, ce n’est pas du rock classique : pas de batteur, pas de guitare saturée, c’est 100% machines et textures.
À la fin, tout bascule dans un dub expérimental qui casse le cadre et ouvre sur autre chose.
C’est un morceau entre les genres, quelque part entre psyché vintage, post-rock électronique et dub mutant.
À cette époque, j’étais bien équipé : une Akai MPC-X comme cœur de machine, un Nord Rack Electro 2 pour les claviers vintage, un Moog pour les basses, et une grande table de mixage pleine d’auxiliaires et de filtres. C’est avec ce set-up que j’ai composé cette série de morceaux, avant de revendre pas mal de matos pour revenir vers quelque chose de plus simple et plus centré sur le dub.
🙏 Merci à toutes celles et ceux qui me suivent, qui me soutiennent et qui me permettent de rester moi-même, de prendre ces risques musicaux et d’aller explorer plus loin. Si je peux continuer à faire des concerts et partager cette musique, c’est aussi grâce à vous, à votre écoute et à votre énergie. Même si je garde toujours une âme reggae-dub bien ancrée, c’est ce lien qui me pousse à expérimenter et à créer.

GÖR FLSH, the Canadian digital Doomster, is back with his third album! 

'Forgotten Rites started as a simple b-side and unreleased material compilation but became so much more in the process' he says. For GÖR FLSH, it was like rediscovering some raw, forgotten gems that just needed some well-deserved polishing. Still, only a remastering wasn't enough so all pieces were reworked to the point where they sounded like brand new songs.
