the tracks on this album were recorded in the winter of early 2020. the mood of the album was influenced by various thoughts about the irreversibility of passing time. it´s about the remembrance of former friends you haven´t seen for quite a long time and then you hear of their passing. it´s about the fly on the window which is there and then it isn´t. thoughts floating through your brain like water through the river and where do they go? where is the green meadow you knew years before? you come back and then there is a new flat, a power station or a street to keep the traffic out of the village.

the tracks were recorded with a eurorack modular setup at Oberlin´s home in koblenz, germany, in the early winter of 2020.

Disquiet Junto Project 0168: Three of a Kind
Create an original, multi-part piece with a single audio source.

Step 1: You will be making a single track with three different parallel lines. It might be easiest to think of them as melody, rhythm, and an ambient foundational bed, but you might also do three counterposed rhythms, or a drone of three varying ambient beds. It’s up to you.

Step 2: Select a single source of audio. Perhaps it’s a segment of pre-existing track, or a single note on a favorite instrument, or a short recording of you humming or breathing.

Step 3: Transform that single source of audio to produce each of the three separate lines you plotted in Step 1.

Step 4: Record the track with those three lines running simultaneously.

Step 5: Upload your track to the Disquiet Junto group on SoundCloud.

Step 6: Then listen to and comment on tracks uploaded by your fellow Disquiet Junto participants.

Deadline: This assignment was made in the evening, California time, on Thursday, March 19, 2015, with a deadline of 11:59pm wherever you are on Monday, March 23, 2015.

Length: The length of your finished work should be roughly between one and four minutes.

マイクは2本使った。クラシックギターのジョイント部分とブリッジを狙って。マイクプリアンプが1つしかないので、条件を同じにしたくてインターフェイスに直接つないで録音。録音後にマイクプリアンプを通過させた音を足した。アナログ出し？リアンプ？言い方がいまいちわからない。なので合計4トラック。マイクプリアンプは、今年中に買いたいなーと思っています。いい音で録って「はい終わり〜」にしたいし。良い録音機材の基準は「現実に鳴っている音と録音されている音のギャップが少ないこと」と考えています。これがね〜難しいですよね…。その事があって、後から音を足したりしてるんですけど、今はね。本当はしたくない、面倒だし。今回は、ちょっと箱鳴りの成分が多すぎたかもなぁ。少しボワボワしてるかも。でも、上手くいかなかったなぁという経験を持っていないと、次の作戦が練られないので、まぁいいでしょー。難しいですが「あーでもない」「こーでもない」と言いながら少しづつ進むのは、とても楽しいです。今回の曲は、何年か前に作ったもののリメイク。でも、色々と変わっているので、ほぼ新曲の気分だ！笑。フリーテンポでソロギターを演奏すると、今の心境が色濃く出せる。それが「あぁ音楽やってんなぁ〜」という気分がして、とても充実した時間を過ごせます。最近、バッハの曲を弾いてみたりもしている。余談だけど。あぁマイクプリマイクプリマイクプリ…..。
