New Beginnings

Soular Order - New Beginnings

I used to lay awake at night when I can't sleep and listen to the blood rushing to my head pressed against the pillow. 
it was faint and consistent, like a soft marching sound. 
The repetitive nature of the sound was soothing. 
"SOMEWHERE TO GO" was recorded on a baby grand piano and a tascam recorder sometime in February of this year.
It was inspired by the missing part of my life I will never have, that other place where the grass is always greener, the thoughts are clearer, a place I continue to reach towards grabbing like a child in the dark.

i'm lying with her, here in her bed in the dark. i can feel her breathing and the burning glow of the streetlight outside of her window falls soft on her skin. i can see her pulse beat in time in the space between her collar bones and i have this great need to wrap my arms around her and pull her close. smother her like a fire burning light and lucid in this darkness. 
i can feel her and smell her in the air around us and she is beautiful. this need to have her close holds itself inside me, gripping and twisting; entwining itself in my ribcage. but instead i lie here next to her and shut my eyes and feel her around me just a bit more before i drift out of the world and dream beneath her blanket and think that she is beautiful.
