Having joined the Anjunadeep ranks last year via the label’s Explorations EP series, Finland’s Tontario has gone on to deliver a string of well received releases, including a stunning rework of Ólafur Arnalds’s ‘Öldurót’. Tontario now returns to the label with another set of adventurous downtempo cuts on the four track ‘From Below EP’

The EP opens with the string-laden textures of ‘Löpeld’, before drifting into the floating groove of ‘Rove’ (featuring Benjamin Gustafsson). Next ‘Vilsenhet’ serves up a heavier brooding vibe to the package before rounding off the EP on an ambient note with ‘Worriers’.

What are you supposed to do if your loved one is struggling in life and driving you away? Vittoria Fleet creates an EP that rubs salt into the wound, and it’s a beautiful pain.

Especially when living in a metropolis like Berlin or London you will know this type of person: someone with a talent, but standing in their own way. Maybe they party too much, continuously mess up in relationships or they just don’t get their shit together. It’s kinda tolerable if this is just an acquaintance, but what if this is actually your loved one?

Singer Giada Zerbo captures the essence of these emotions with her ethereal and sultry voice while producer Allan Shotter creates an organic electronica soundscape to it: title track “Entangled” hits you with its raw energy of slow violence. “Return” is the wish to bring your loved one back onto the right path. “Headradio” is the battle between closeness and dislodgement, between hope and constant longing.

The Berlin-based duo asks you all the questions: how much responsibility do we carry for the other one? Is it ok to parent our struggling lover? Is it egoistic not to? What if you see no sign of upturn? When is it ok to give up? When is it ok to think about yourself?

The four tracks of Vittoria Fleet’s “Entangled EP” don’t have an answer to all this. But they feel your pain.

Exclusive Odd Beholder 'Lighting (Fejká Remix)'

Black Forest breed Fejka just remixed Swiss pop duo Odd Beholder turning the original song into an melancholically yet beautifully sounding piece of electronic music. Shortly before the release of his en’Lighting’ remix release on Sinnbus Torture the Artist spoke to Brian, how close friends call Fejka, about his preference for melancholic soundscapes and female vocals, the elements that inspired him to remix Odd Beholder and – since the new Star Wars movie just hit cinemas around the globe – his perception of the dark side of music and people.

There is an immediately noticeable shift in mood from the last time we checked in with S. Carey. He was heavy-hearted on 2022’s Break Me Open — crestfallen and reckoning after a big love lost. And so, Watercress sets us off with the ringing of hard-won hope. It is in fact only in the clear, shallow waters that watercress grows. And these are the very places that Sean Carey the human being returns to again and again — to fish, to reflect, and to grow. Seasons have passed and he’s spent time healing in the water, flowing and still. The pieces have been collected and reassembled. Of course, there’s always going to be a wistful quality to S. Carey’s music. But here, it’s the bright, crisp October morning kind of wistful.
