Alex Kassian welcomed the first sunrise at Solar Village in 2023, and we can now listen back to his performance. He took Wonderers on a journey that started downtempo and slowly built his set out, marking a new direction for sunrise performances at our beloved venue.

Though it may not have been initially evident even for himself, Emel Rowe has the love for music engraved in his DNA. The Filipino-Australian DJ, party polymath, and vibe manager brings with him a gift of feeling; one that led to a flourishing career spinning across countries and co-founding UNKNWN, CC:Concepts and Manila Community Radio in the Philippines along the way. From closing Equation Festival and raising a rager in Wonderfruit Festival to hosting numerous events across the archipelago, Rowe has been both fortunate and diligent with his mission to share special moments on and off the floor.

Margaritas Swim d’Or – Nordic Soul Syndicate

En färgsprakande resa genom funk, jazz och experimentell klubbkultur. Margaritas Swim d’Or blandar spejsiga grooves, psykedeliska jam och neonfärgade melodier – som en cocktail serverad i kosmos.

Plattan öppnar med den episka “Dong (Full Session)”, ett över tio minuter långt jam som bygger upp hela universumet, för att sedan dyka ner i kortare, intensiva spår som “Margarita Steam”, “Cosmic Shampoo” och “Neon Flow”. Resultatet blir en balans mellan långa improvisationer och moderna, klubbvänliga funkjazzlåtar.

Det här är NSS mest lyxiga och moderna album hittills – en plats där lounge möter avant-garde, där saxofonens rop blandas med synthens flöde, och där varje spår känns som en ny drink i en ändlös bar av ljud.

Margarita Steam

Scattered Waves is a cross-continental platform amplifying East and Southeast Asian voices in electronic music—both across Asia and throughout its global diaspora. Founded in Rotterdam by Vietnamese DJ, producer, and curator Kimmah, the project is based between the Netherlands and Vietnam, building sonic and cultural bridges between communities historically scattered across oceans and borders. 

Rooted in a diasporic narrative, the name Scattered Waves draws from the South China Sea, whose waves scattered Vietnamese communities across the world. These waters symbolize both the rupture of displacement and the persistence of cultural memory. Scattered Waves channels that legacy into a space for exchange and connection through music. 

The platform hosts club nights with all-Asian lineups across Europe and Asia, including a flagship Lunar New Year event in the Netherlands. It also organizes intimate listening sessions focused on ambient, experimental, and leftfield music by Asian artists, runs a record label dedicated to new sounds from East and Southeast Asia, and airs a monthly radio show on Operator Radio in Rotterdam highlighting voices from the Asian diaspora and beyond.
