Harmony Haven beat challenge

We are very excited to announce the Harmony Haven beat challenge which is designed to inspire all artists participating to try out new styles and to add new elements to their music. The end goal? Achieve triumph as the winner!

1st Place: $75 gift card
2nd Place: $25 gift card
*Gift cards will be for an online music store such as musicians friend or sweetwater (depending on what is available in your region)

The challenge will be as follows:
All artists will be given a set amount of time to design a beat
which cannot surpass 2 minutes in length, with a minimum length of 1 minute.

The beat must be made using the samples provided in the Harmony Haven sample pack, which have all been uniquely created for this challenge by the Harmony Haven crew.

All artists must use ONE loop and at least FOUR one shots from the folders provided.

Artists may add whatever else to their track they wish. Add the spice 😉

Use whichever one-shots and loops you'd like, and as many as you want!
The samples used MUST be recognizable (this does not mean you cannot mix em / stretch em / FX em but make sure they can be noticed)
The beat can be in whatever genre the artist wishes
All beats may include vocals as long as they are either sample cleared, original, or from the pack

All beats must be submitted by Jan 23 to harmonyhaven2018@gmail.com. You may also submit to Murkish, Huken or Kaleidokitty via twitter, instagram or discord DMs.
Submit using a Soundcloud private link with DOWNLOAD ENABLED.
The beats will then all be listened to by a guest to the Haven, Yama, who will decide the winner alongside Nick Neutronz, rexu and myself.

SKRILLEX - SUPERSONIC [evade remix]

After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.
