@hirschmann-music joins forces with @mimmo-assi-nf for Le Martinet LP, a gloomy trip to be released on 2nd April 2021 on Toulouse-based @ritmofatale. As part of this release, we are thrilled to share the track ‘Regard Croisé’ from Hirschmann, a resident of @ola_radio, @tpltcollective affiliate and @eclipse_bdx boss. Expect a dark atmosphere, between  gloomy trance, lustful & downtempo EBM, psychedelic and experimental incantations.

Vera (@urwax) is from Russia but has been living in France for 5 years already. Almost a year ago, she joined the family of the Bordeaux radio @ola_radio. As part of @scenecityeu residency on @noodsradio, she has prepared a dynamic and energetic set for you to rejoice in the coming summer.

Multimedia Schneider (@mmschneider) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Leipzig. His practice spans experimental music, video and image. Based on reworking found and archived audio as well as visual material, the digital is remediated through varied analogue processes. Thrust into digital uncertainty, at the expense of its own substance the reformulated sounds and images tend towards abstraction. An idea in its very becoming the process becomes the subject and shapes the parameters of aesthetics within the work. Replicated and filtered Multimedia Schneider’s practice questions the real and the unreal in the field of human perception.
Winter Tapes I & II invite into gliding melodies and field recordings as they imprint an atmosphere haunting and naïve. Layers of resonance located and compressed are etchings in mid-air. Tender textures blossom in intimate and subtle sound design, luring us into this thoughtful ambient album. 
All Tracks are live improvisations based on the use of a minimalistic 
conceptualized setup mostly consisting of low budget and semi broken equipment.

Trashy Kid (@trashykid) is an active member of nightlife in Riga. He currently runs @clubserviss and hosts radio show Signāls. With active DJing and party organizing years of experience have made it possible for him to break the barriers between different genres and his sets are quite unpredictable. Known for an easy-going and relaxed attitude on and off the stage is happy when good music is played loudly. As the local partner of @scenecityeu in Riga, Trashy Kid is the first Latvian artist to be welcomed on this @noodsradio residency.

Scene city's Riga-based partner @clubserviss is releasing its first various made of a bunch of local talents from this Baltic scene. We are glad to premiere the track "Northern Girl" from @e91, a speedy-groovy-ravy killer track which might won't let any chances to worldwide dancefloors.

Scene city is kicking-off its brand new residency on Mutant Radio featuring Phoebe from Lisbon. Each two months, Scene city will showcase on Mutant one artist who's invited to record a mix composed of musics from his or her city. This way, the platform proposes a journey to explore and discover a part of each scene through the lens of local talents.
This month, Phoebe (Bruno Trigo Gonçalves) dives into the Lisbon music scene. Phoebe is producer, DJ and founder of the label/collective Troublemaker Records and manager at Rádio Quântica. Simplicity doesn't live here, but rather an intense mixture not only of musical references, but also personal ones, which give this music a truly intimate charge, even when the explosions hit us in an austere way.

For the second episode of Scene city (@scenecityeu) on Mutant radio, André (aka. Staxl @staxl_andre) presents a bunch of unreleased and fresh stuff from artists and labels based in Leipzig, Germany. He got introduced to the local scene through organizing punk and experimental DIY shows and later on joining PRACHT collective - a club dedicated to discovering as well as supporting innovative/progressive music. In that, they're not being committed to a specific style, but try to trace the uncharted, left-field and engaging strands of culture. Correspondingly, this mix for Scene city displays a wide variety of genres - from electroacustics and computer music through bass music to post-punk and beyond - and encompasses mostly unreleased music, plus some cassette and digital releases and live recordings.

Scene city w. Gael (Kyiv) [10.03.2022]

@scenecityeu is back on Mutant with Ukrainian DJ and sound producer @oleg-patselya. Oleg is still based in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, and is volunteering there to bring food, medicines, essentials, and send humanitarian cargo to other cities.
“I forgot that I am a musician, I forgot that my album was supposed to be released in early March. I cannot perform, write music, thereby earning money, but this is naturally not comparable to what other people have experienced.” he says. Few days ago, Oleg asked us whether he could record this mix, as “during the war I can’t go to Europe or somewhere to play on gigs because of the war, and I must stay here and help, and I lose my musical potential”

Andrey Sirotkin (@andreysirotkin) is an electronic music producer and dj from Kyiv, Ukraine.
In 2013, after 6 years of experiments with sound and music of different genres Andrey focuses on techno with his new project Shade Of Drums.
2022 started for Andrey with with the attack of russia on Ukraine.
Despite the terrible things that were happening around, the artist continued to work his music and to express his feelings with art.
After returning to Kyiv from western part of Ukraine Andrey started his own radioshow at capital-based new radio @gasolineradio called "Against The Grain" which is dedicated to non-mainstream, deep, atmospheric and experimental electronic music.

Pursuing the intriguing aesthetic brought to light through its Vapordub compilation earlier this year, the French imprint is now exploring deeper under the iceberg of contemporary psychedelic music. A ten-track generous blend of 80s-90s mellow new age and crystalline HD sound-design, in the true spirit of the eco-futurism vibe.
 
Fall shall sound smoother from October 12th with the seventh Bamboo Shows’ release and this crystalline cassette in limited edition, wonderfully illustrated by the underwater, aquatic art of Ida Lissner.

 events launched in Bordeaux and Lisbon, @scenecityeu makes its return on Mutant. The concept is still the same for the platform: to showcase the local musical landscape of a few cities through the lens of local artists. This new episode is dedicated to the
 Vilnius scene. 
Together with its partner @palanga_street_radio,
 Scene city invited @quaintas who has been active in the local scene for over eight years. Currently he is a resident show host at @palanga_street_radio with his monthly show ENTR'ACTE and duo project COOL AIR. He is also a collective member of @minimal-lt
 who have run the electronic music night Minimal Mondays since 2006. In this mix, Quaint pieces together a personal perspective of the Vilnius electronic music scene, pacing through the best of its more experimental and melancholic side.

First @monochromeasso release, Primärwald is a lyrical and spiritual ode, an auditory epic inspired by sylvan myths. A tribal and experimental collection, with slow and shamanic sonorities. We unveil one of the V/A track, Arduenna, by Lyon-based artist @sanjib-4.
The benefits of the release will be donated to the association Envol Vert.

More than 9 months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Kyiv-based label @standard-deviation releases 'From Ukraine, For Ukraine’. It is a fundraising compilation gathering 20 tracks, in honor of the affiliated ∄ club's third anniversary. All proceeds will be donated to the K41 Community Fund. "In accordance with our current feelings, the tonality of this compilation is melancholic and fragile, yet hopeful." says the label itself. @katarina-gryvul is one of the Ukrainian artists who is part of the compilation, and we are delighted to share her track "Ocean" as part of our premiere series.

Premiere: Katarina Gryvul — Ocean

Kyiv-based label @mystictrax releases a new compilation on December 15th, "Code". As part of it, @demian-feriy explores the effect of Ukrainian folk instruments on the listener's fighting spirit in a new track called Combat Drugs. A short, but meaningful, atonal mixture of kobza, songs and god knows what else can bring the listener into a trance with its originality. "Code" compilation also includes tracks from Fadiant Futur, Sider, Kørper and many more. The album is dedicated to defenders of world democracy and common sense, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kyiv-based label @mystictrax is back with its new release 'Herograve' by @lostlojic, dedicated to the talented sons of Ukraine who gave their lives in the struggle for a bright future.

Before the official release in February, we unveil one of the EP’s track, “Rave under occupation”, a tribute to Andrii Kuzmenko, famous Ukrainian ‘Skryabin’ band leader, who died in a car accident, engaged in humanitarian aid, 2015.

Andria (@androan97) delivers a new sound experience as part of our podcast series. DJ, producer, graphic designer and visual-artist he is based in Belgrade, Serbia. His selection is always eclectic and covers a plethora of club music genres. Coming from a background as a producer and dj of leftfield and experimental music, he combines those influences with various UK club genres, their contemporary hybrid forms, and hypnotic techno.
Andria has released music on a variety of labels, including YES, Phase Group and Osàre Editions!, and has worked on graphics for a variety of labels and club nights.

This project is a 6 track mini-album that comes together as a meditative exercise on the subjects of mysticism and desolation. @zahvat (real name Dariia Kornieieva) is a Kyiv-based DJ who preaches a track-centered approach in her practice. According to it, tracks aren’t selected by the genres, but by the track’s value. As a result — you get a story that is interesting to listen. “Zàhvat” is a Ukrainian word that describes a feeling or state of extreme satisfaction. That’s the condition in which the DJ wills to immerse the listeners. Dariia played at such places as Brudnyi Pes Festival, Stezhka, ∄, etc.

In this mix, you will walk from dark hip-hop to drumfull but melodic experimental breakbeat. This is an unconsciously made illustration of the feeling of a human, who lives in a state of war throughout the year: sorrow, uncertainty, but absolute unbreakability.

Kyiv-based @gasolineradio is opening a music label with a first release on 26th of April. This first effort is from the Ukrainian musician from Kharkiv - Maksym Merkulov aka @thewhaler. It is dedicated to Memorial Day of the Chernobyl tragedy.

Kyiv-based artist @ewa_nomad delivers "Dream 1: Silent Peaceful Memoirs", her first hybrid ambient mix — an ode to the power of silence, that has been recorded from four decks, featuring Ewa’s voice singing a collection of hazy ukrainian songs from her serene childhood in addition to ASMR whispering. 

You can hear “Ніч яка місячна” by Mykola Lysenko on the words of Mykhailo Starytskyy, “Cорочка мамина” by Nataliya May, “Kolyskova”, “Specialy for you” Dakha Brakha, “Useless Music I”, “Her favorite place” Heinali, “Day after Darkness” Bryozone. These heartfelt and delicate memories manifest within a deep, unconscious dream where war and chaos hold no place. Instead, they bestow upon listeners a tender sense of relief and tranquility.

Designed to facilitate a restful sleep, inspire dreamscapes, alleviate stress, and aid those struggling with insomnia. This series of ambient mixes will follow, accompanied by poems, profound words, and timeless fairytales.

Scene city podcast 18 — Ewa Nomad

We release one track of the forthcoming @mystictrax compilation: Cosmic Inflation. The various unites Ukrainian forward-thinking producers worldwide to show the rapid expansion of sound palette in Ukrainian independent electronic scene. Diverging from the traditional Mystictrax label genre range, each track demonstrates the artists' mastery of diverse techniques and methods, ranging from modular systems and hardware to DAWs and mobile apps.
Among the musicians who still have time and possibilities to write music is @hatroneli who is doing deep ambient beautiful music, including the track 'Beam 3' revealed here.

Film producer and DJ Alise Ģelze (@gelze), based in Riga, has been a radio host for local radio NABA and a DJ at clubs, festivals, and venues since 2004. Her musical journey has been characterised by a continuous exploration of genres, ranging from electronic experimental ambience to the captivating rhythms of light techno. Today we are delighted to share a mix from her composed of ambient sound collages.

We are delighted to welcome Night Oceann (@nathalie-oceann) as part of our guestmix series, a Tbilisi based poet and an electronic music composer. She brings her inspirations from spoken word and transforms it into a musical experience. Her performances are a synthesis of poetry, sound and field recording. Night Oceann also being a music selector is a resident of Mutant Radio (@mutantradio) where she hosts a bi-monthly show ‘Hot Water Music’ exploring diverse genres from ambient to experimental and avant-garde music of different eras.

Earlier in 2023, we released a mix from Kyiv-born and Prague-based producer and DJ @andriy_k on our platform, as part of our @mutantradio residency. Today, we are pleased to reveal one of his track which was released on the new Warsaw-based independent label based @natur_wav. With a focus on discovering new talent and presenting a distinctive, authentic sound within the contemporary electronic music scene, the label is aimed to concentrate on emotion and reflect ‘the magic around us’. In its first Natur Digital compilation 001 composed of 20 tracks, they are featuring Andriy's beautiful downtempo IDM 'Kinburn' which we are delighted to share here.

For this new guestmix, Scene city is on its way to Kharkiv - a city of power for @potrox. An adherent of @kulturazvuku & 'Zhivot', he also curates 'Rejoiced', a vinyl-only podcast series on @gasolineradio with showcases in Kyiv’s clubs and zine interviews with DJs. Living now away from his hometown, Potrox recorded a mix, which is his shout-out to Kharkiv and its club culture.

Data Molfar (@datamolfar) is a DJ, sound producer, author of the "Обряди" show on @gasolineradio, art director of Khvylovyi and a volunteer.

The Data Molfar project is an eclectic project that combines various ethnic traditions in a future setting, through the image of a musical sorcerer, molfar. Someone who helps people, but to a greater extent protects the interests of nature and the laws of the surrounding world. Data Molfar's music is shamanism in data streams, where each track is a piece of the original code. His musical performance is a connection to cyberspace, where a reinterpreted occult ritual takes place. Intriguing tribal and rhythmic waves, the sounds of which echo through the mind. Raw drums, gloomy sci-fi electro and foggy ambient—all this intertwines into mystical action and altered consciousness.

Scene city podcast 22 — Data Molfar

We are pleased to unveil one track of the upcoming release of Lisbon-based @bleiddd on @discos_extendes.

BLEID is Mariana Freitas, DJ and producer, and one of the faces of the new generation of Portuguese club music. Together with Bruno Gonçalves and Inês Coutinho, they share part of the management and artistic direction of the cultural association “Planeta Manas”, the community radio “Rádio Quântica” and the queer rave “mina”.

'Subliminal' is very clearly a club record. A series of tracks in the 150/160 BPM range, anchored in a 4/4 rhythm, full throttle. Containing very few melodic elements, this is an EP anchored in the strength of rhythm. On the one hand, there is a certain familiarity with Chicago Footwork, mainly in the prevalence of certain rhythmic elements such as snare drums and the use of sliced vocal samples. The track “Get Down” is driven by voice samples and their multiple slices, combined with intricate rhythmic patterns. Footwork madness in full force.

A deep-dyed record collector and a noteworthy member of Tbilisi's nightclub community, @Parn_a is part of Tbilisi’s niche “Mtkvarze’s” booking team. He’s also responsible for hosting and sharing decks with well-known DJ identities in underground club scene, including heavyweight legends such as Thomas Fehlmann, Zaltan, Plo Man, Huerco S and many others. Tho still a  Deejay with a long road ahead, you can find him spinning records at his home club Mtkvarze, joined by numerous legendary Clubs of Tbilisi underground scene like Café Gallery, Reflector, Khidi & others. 

To kick-off Scene city podcast serie, Parna brings us into the future with a trippy progressive set, from downtempo house to an intense sequence of breaky peak time hits, sometimes deep and dark but always energetic.

Tbilissi est une de ces villes où club culture rime encore avec résistances. 
L'an dernier, suite à la fermeture de son club le plus célèbre, le Bassiani, une bonne partie de sa jeunesse s'est mobilisée pour organiser une rave géante devant le parlement géorgien, poussant celui-ci à faire rouvrir le lieu.

Au-delà, Tbilissi fait figure de spot de créativité insoupçonné.

Dans cet premier épisode de la résidence de Scene city sur Ola Radio, on explore avec les artistes géorgiens @Ninasupsa et @Parn_a la scène artistique de Tbilissi, des manifestations du club Bassiani à la cartographie des acteurs électroniques de la ville.

Born and raised in Brazil, Lisbon-based artist @saintcaboclo is a fresh new face and talent in town, whose influences spawn mostly from “bailes” (illegal / underground funk parties). Growing up, Saint Caboclo saw bailes as an escape from the classist violence haunting Brazil, in which the marginalized communities had a voice and an opportunity for artistic expression.
Heavily surrounded by this culture, Saint Caboclo vows to bring south-american rhythms under the spotlight as a way of properly promoting its richness and celebrating its diversity.
As a DJ, he seeks an interesting fusion between genres, going from funk carioca and trap to hard club beats, which is a manifestation of his defiant character, as well as his desire to be an ambassador for queer representation in funk and hip-hop culture.
Debuting at @circaafterdeath's Noite Juliet, in its very first edition, Saint Caboclo is the collective’s newest member, whose vision involves shattering the unfortunate reality of an artistic scene that is predominantly white and lacking representation of LGBT POC people.

Jérôme aka RIGO @nativerigo not only distinguish himself by his size, but also thanks to a wide amount of records to be found in his vinyle bag. He succeeded with time to collect and build a backup selection aimed at bewitching the audience – in his proper way. Coming from Bordeaux, Jérôme co-founded the @super-daronne collective with 3 other friends who are now well known by local people. After 3 years, they managed to bring in town their free and uninhibited party vision.

For the fourth episode of our podcast serie RIGO delivered a percussive set which looks and sounds at as much on house, acid or breakbeat, which suggests good things for is next gig with @tornadowallace and @tpltcollective at Hangar FL in Bordeaux. This show is the result of a partnership with @letype magazine.

C’est en compagnie de Vladimir Ivkovic (@vladimir) et de Branislav Jovančević aka Kӣr (@k6r), producteur, dj et membre de l’équipe du club Drusgtore (@drugstorebeograd), véritable institution underground locale, qu’on part à la découverte de la capitale serbe. Scene City • Belgrade (05.03.20)

@dianaazzuz is an interdisciplinary artist. Half Ukrainian, half Syrian, she lived in Syria, Libya, and is now based in Kyiv. She had her first self-released EP out in February, 2020. The in-depth analysis of the 20th century concept of photography via social and cultural prism at the university led her to a deeper interest in digital art. As a visual artist, she has collaborated with @rina-priduvalova on an audiovisual show which was featured on "@tightmixes is 2 Takeover". Their alliance started off with a video work ‘Hyperrial’ that was out in December, 2019. Now, she’s in the process of putting out an album and a visual piece in collaboration with Rina Priduvalova.

We are thrilled to welcome Diana Azzuz for our podcast serie, in the framework of our collaboration with Kyiv-based zine TIGHT. The proposed mixtape features some tracks from @m-e-s-h, @ang3l-139505149, Death Grips and other cutting-edge sounds.

It all started in the mountains of Portugal when two artists decided to collaborate on a project PromoteTheDigging. What kind of music do they play? These, Vilnius based artists, present their music in such a terms as weirdotronica, pornonoise and fluxcore. They call their project Cleaning Service Agency (@yeagl) and one of the most special genre in their music is caca, which is very important to pronaunce right. Live performances of electronic music combined with storytelling and freaky dance music accents. It's always full of improvisation and crime investigation.

A story probably happening somewhere around a corner - Amber in a room. One of the appartment's residents was concerned about the suspicious silence in the neighborhood. She could only hear a strange squeak, the sound of a murmur, which turned into a beep. The crack at the bottom of the door flashed rhythmically with bright light.

Suddenly a room door opens, leaving everyone in the town without a promise - no one has forgotten the scandal that also found him in the center a few years ago. A yellowish ocher lighted the perimeter of the horizon. Amber in the middle of the room.

With a twinkle in his eyes and a ghastly gaze, the man slowly turned away. The hand pressed the edge of the chair so hard that the skin turned white. Amber's nervous shaking leg gave a strange, repetitive sting. He was spending months in the room. 

Two trucks parked in the yard annoyed the neighbors, but the next day they were in the yard of another serious entrepreneur. The amber was gone. 

The document of the event claimed that in one of the trucks there was masked men. Firearms were visible through the windows.

Lieux alternatifs, projets d’occupations temporaire, clubs, espaces de diffusion plus « classiques » : quels rôles jouent-ils
dans la construction d’une « scène » ? Si Lyon bénéficie d’un certain rayonnement culturel et artistique pour la qualité de
ses artistes et d’autres acteurs (labels, disquaires, médias...) dans le champ des musiques électroniques, les lieux contribuent indéniablement à ce dynamisme. En dressant un portrait de cette scène, cette émission présentée en collaboration entre Radio Béguin et Scene city porte une attention particulière à la place des lieux dans la fabrication d’une scène, avec Warum (Le Sucre), Nico Poisson (Ground Zero) et Erevan DJ (Superposition).

MIJU (@mijumijumi) is a young DJ from Belgrade, Serbia, currently residing in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2020, MIJU has been selected as a 'new blood' DJ by one of the most recognised club in the Baltics region - Opium (@opiumclub). MIJU guides her musical direction by seamlessly blending in fractions of breakbeat, electro and acid, accompanied by house and melodic undertones. What distinguishes her selection is her determination to create the unexpected twists and turns which resonate between the boundaries of old and new. MIJU's sets are always playful and in her view - music is freedom and dancing is setting you free.

kӣr (@k6r) is the solo production epithet of Bane Jovančević, resident live artist and program manager of Belgrade’s club Drug§tore. His first release Imrali was on Creme Organization, second one Mramorje was released on Yerevan Tapes and third Balčak on Don't DJ's label Disk. By combining traditional and experimental influences in electro-acoustic music, Kӣr creates the sound in which drone-navigated post- industrial logos transgresses into a tribal mythos, in search for the traces of future. The clash of synths and acoustics invoke an audio landscape of Byzantine sacral traditions and Balkan folklore rhythms. Kӣr’s symbolic language (Dimiskija, Imrali, Mramorje, Balčak) layers it up with an ancient temporality and its logic of being that is not past but our own. The basic concept is to challenge conventional and predominant rhythmic structures in music by juxtaposing traditional rhythms with contemporary electronic sound design. The visual imaginary invoked in the sound – that of a forest air, a river, a hum of birds – delivered through the ruthlessness of the machine, insist on an active listening, to all the otherworldly of this world. It is music that hypnotizes, contemplates and raves. And it always dances.
Last two years were very busy, with Electronic Studio Radio Belgrade residency, then composing for a theater play "Stvaranje Čoveka" at one of the leading Serbian theaters "Atelje 212", and with residency in Reykjavik, working on music for conceptual performance "Hai Maei" with local artist Borghildur Indriðadóttir. Next release “Kosidba” is scheduled for spring 2021. on Belgian label “Esitu Records”

Delighted to launch our "premiere" series with Lyon-based @xliks, who is featured on the brand new record label Music for commercials (@user-16359218), dedicated to environmental preservation. All the label's profits are donated to associations for the protection of the environment and anti-advertising actions.
Music for commercials promotes diverse and open aesthetics, from noise, to IDM (Idiocratic Dance music)and destructured pop.

From an ecological point of view, the Lyon-based label's releases take place on floppy disks (these floppy disks are second hand). The race for innovation can make us lose the sense of our priority. They prefer
to use obsolete material to make useful and usable work of art. Nothing is obsolete as long as it is still usable.

Premiere: xl.iks — Healing Process

After releasing tracks on record labels such as @comicsansrec and @tustance, @modern-collapse, a duo composed of Gabriel de Sercey and Hugo Fabry, are back with a debut album, based on deconstructing sonic elements of club musict hrough an immersive experience. For this project, they felt like they needed to break away from the club side to propose a more personal and introspective project, hence the title Anti-Club Music Club. This summer, the release of Vanessa Amara's album Poses has shaken thema bit in its "patchwork" aspect of experimental sounds. Therefore, they started to build their own project with the same intention to propose a brief but intense auditory journey that can be listened to from beginning to end, with an emphasis on emotions and sound design. 
It is a project that aims to challenge the way we consider club music, by deconstructing its basis and showing that creation and destruction can be two faces of the same coin.

Following a first release a few weeks ago to celebrate its first anniversary, Bordeaux-based @ola_radio is presenting the "Volume 02" of its various series: “Ola Compile vol.2 - Mécanique Ondulatoire", out on February 14, 2021.

An ode to "normal times" and to unloved party, the compilation aims at celebrating the time when we could easily meet strangers, seduce one-another and just live without social distancing. Among the 15 artists featured on this compilation, we are glad to present the track "Mylène" from @mynameisronba, the founder of Bordeaux crew @itscremefraiche. With this delicate acid love story, the French artist is introducing his first-ever production work.
