From 1996's Descent 2 this composition always amazed me somehow. Thanks to it beeing MIDI this wasn't exactly rocketscience but it doesn't have to. Just a little tribute to one of my favorite games and Dan Wentz who wrote the (MIDI) OST.

Descent 2 main theme

A relic by now, never figured out anything to do with it, except shorten it drastically, but probably lost the project files (make backups people!). Keeping it as a learning experience and for that epic solo.

Soundtrack to "Skyrider" on the AtariST. Interestingly an actual compressed audiofile instead of traditional chiptunes. I think they were very proud of that audio compression, as they used samples throughout the entire game, which by today's standards sound a bit crap.

If you're a hardcore Sh'm'up player, I'd LOVE to see you get past level 2. 20 years later I still think it's impossible and want my pocket money I spent on it back!!

I still haven'T recovered from a major computer accident, so this is just a development snapshot of sorts. It has been sitting on my drive for a while now and I just couldn't resist pushing it out as a WIP.

Yes, I did sample most of the original, because it just has this perfect gritty tone. I don't have access to the real hardware, so the sound is emulated. On the plus side I could solo each track in emulation for sampling purposes.

Music will keep tending towards the noise spectrum and the mastering will probably stay questionable...at least for a while.

I'm not catering to a niche market, I'm making a crater in the triangle of inspiration, comprised of Thrash Metal, classic 8-bit and classical music polyphony. Sometimes more one than the other.
