This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from rising techno selector, PageOne. The Undivided boss man has supplied an hour of top-tier minimal techno grooves.

Following on from an EP on his imprint, Undivided, the Dublin producer returns to Four Four Mag with a stellar hour of techno. The young producer has been on a great run lately after making his Index debut & hosting his debut party in Bow Lane. The Donabate native has also received support from some of techno’s finest up & comers in recent times with artists such as Marron, Alarico, TWR72 & more playing out his music.

PageOne has been cementing his name as one of the fastest rising youngsters in techno in Ireland today! Solidifying a signature sound so early in his career which is, minimal, pacey and groovy.

The mix is an hour long trip through PageOne’s library of techno. The Dublin selector paces through grooves with ease. This is a real treat!

A brief recording capturing part of my warm up set at Stage and Radio Manchester. 

I really enjoyed opening the room up, teasing some deep sonic and organic textures.

Liam Chambers aka HOOLIGAN is this weeks entry to the Four Four Local Selection Mix Series. The talented Cork DJ and producer completes the 172nd edition to the series, comprising of a groove infused, hypnotically driven recording from start to finish.

Boasting releases on Sonic Intel, SPEED and Disintegrated, it is clear that HOOLIGAN is no stranger to Ireland’s and more notably, Cork’s underground dance scene. Having played in ‘An Spalpín Fánach’ and ‘Crack Jenny’s’, coupling this with his involvement in Kriptik, a collective running private events in unique locations around Cork, solidifies this fact even more.

Kriptik looks to have gained a very strong reputation in quite a short period of time and are definitely a party to keep an eye on in future. It looks to be another positive contribution to the reignition of Cork city’s party scene that is badly needed. Bravo.

HOOLIGAN’s approach to Techno reflects images and soundscapes of the dark basements of Berlin. His love for rolling basslines and heavy hypnotic grooves, where he blends the old with the new is apparent throughout his recordings as well as his productions.

In this mix you can expect a 3 deck workout made up of some cracking releases. Some of which include tracks from HOOLIGAN himself, British Murder Boys, Kaiser, a host of Key Vinyl releases and more. Get stuck into this.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Eluzid.

Eluzid is a Berlin based DJ and describes her style as contemporary and open without fixed structures. For her, the pandemic was a key moment for starting to play music. The clubs were closed and there was no prospect of them reopening soon. With djing she found a new balance to switch off. As a co-founder of the art and techno collective Suspended, she seeks to cultivate a free and creative environment through genre fluidity and hypnotic but powerful sounds.
