ASEC is an up and comer berlin-based artist and label project. Formally raised into music via Manchester and its roots.  Asec’s productions are centered around raw, yet hypnotic dancefloor-oriented electronic music. He focuses on tension and release with tracks that build up momentum and a high level of intensity. Being one of the few acts that involve modular live sets in our techno circuit, he will always tend to deliver consistency, an expansive music vision, consisting of dark textures, idiosyncratic melodies and dynamic drum sounds. Having had a few releases on his label in collaboration with Kwartz (Polegroup) and Tremudo (Klockworks); he also made a track called Thousand Cuts for the 100 years of Colombia Digital Album by Planet X.

this starts at the end of Jeremy Cheung's perfect warmup (see his page for recording) into my first ever transition to a paying audience, up until just before Jeremy starts to transition to his next pocket of the night

I had actually planned to start on the much more neutral-starting 'Nice or Ugly' by Sweely, but under the red light it looked exactly the same as Air Funk's third release and then in my panic I couldn't find the record I'd planned to play. I'd expected some noob antics to occur on my debut but not this quickly...so I actually had to scramble mailinamix-style to think of an appropriate track to start on, it's a bit of a vibe change from Jeremy's track which you'll hear but it sort of works to kick the energy into French mode. I made a bit of a hash of the transition at the end into the penultimate track which still haunts me but overall in general I'm super happy with the set considering it being on a rotary + only vinyl and with all the club noise, adrenaline and it being my first time. I'm completely hooked :))

the latter parts of the main recording after I came back on at 4am aren't worth uploading as through headphones there's a lot of hissy sibilance thanks to me not paying attention to sticky club smoke causing a LOT of dust to collect on the styluses. I'm normally religious about dust mitigation but on this occasion I decided to stop worrying about it and enjoy the night...next time I will be fully committed to busting that dust
