This sounds more like a level theme than a boss theme. Very nice chord progressions and a lot more of a conflicting sound to it. But it needs powerful drums. And perhaps a few heavy instruments. Like low brass or a dark cello?

Really like how the drums are just almost dancing around with those layering arpeggios.
