Moving towards faster bpms and with some fresh faces Cong Burn's fourth 12" is a step into new ground for the young collective. A1 sees St Petersburg's Flaty follow up his Gost Zvuk 2xLP with some twisted electro. At A2 Lack shifts gears to an early doors stomper. Chekov's B1 showcases the Leeds producer's hypnotic side. While the B2 is closed out by Martin Stromstedt aka Martinou with a lengthy trip floating on airy pads and a subtle groove.

Guided by yet another of La Cheetah Club’s family members, Alfie leads us through the third Outer Zone with four homage laden techno cuts, all obliquely or otherwise brushing past centre-points of styles within the genre. Having proven himself as a producer capable of making serious dancefloor cuts as @theburrellconnection, this new moniker sees the Perth native coagulate sounds usually heard during the energetic moments before the always impending end of the night. Each track stems from influences or creative bursts entirely different from the last, with the EP opening to a lovingly crafted tribute to giants and ending with something drawn from wider sources of inspiration rendered singular. ‘Plastic Entertainment’ is anything but artificial, made with the direct intention of shaking walls and eyeballs.

Frederik Tollund is a Copenhagen-based dj and resident at the club Ved Siden Af. He is also a co-initiator of the party series Group Therapy, which seeks to promote diversity in and around the dj booth in Copenhagen.

This mix is an attempt at creating a proggy continuous arc while interweaving different rhythms, moods, intensities and emotions, mixing old favourites and new discoveries.

Like his MAC Address productions, this mix explores the darker sides of electro and harder dance music while retaining the same sense of fun that has driven Sam’s approach to music for years. The result is a mix of clubby atmospheres intercut with party vibes, courtesy of some great pop and hip hop samples.

September was, as always, a right picnic.

A picnic made whole by the mix of classic dishes, trusted and delicious, with the fresh new meat laid out on the Operator blanket. Yummy on the spread for me: whale song layered over wavy IDM by guest star Loma Doom during Dean High’s ‘Zen Wave,’ Jungle Boogie w/ Mowgli swinging unstoppable through the canapé, Bluets w/ Lilli Zylka, Kharma Radio and, somehow, even spicier than usual ribs from WAOWAO this month. Alongside these lay heaps of fantastic first jams on the station by Nelly Dragon, ARYNA and Frida to name just a few.

Today, however, I get to take home one dish only and it is this dreamy breakbeat course by YuBu. It brought me back into a free feeling of last summer and allowed me to float above the madness for an hour around my room during a rainy autumn day. That was a gift and I’m sure I’m not the only one who could benefit from it this week. I first heard YuBu play during a night in Amsterdam by Tropical Laser Storm, an event organizer you must check out as they are burning fire with guns on phase. Loving the glitchy flow I’ve heard from him so far and secretly waiting for Yubu b2b Peach.
