I was asked to play at 7am on the day the festival started... Friday peak time meant there was no time for foreplay.  The people seemed to enjoy the spanking ;)  And then we took a left turn into balkan land, to introduce the next headliner, Balkan Bump. Burn In The Forest 2022 Mix

What a night! I started playing during the 'Burn' festivities, but everyone came steaming in quite early after that and things were heaving by 11pm! A huge shoutout to all the Bootti Frutti crew who poured their endless, smiling energy into making the sound camp an amazing place to hang out.

Bit of a strange assortment of genres here - started out in funk/disco and wound up in tribal/latin/ecstatic dance/banger territory. Hope you enjoy!

This is my live recording of my energetic house set performed at Scuzz Bar at Burn in the Forest - BC's Regional Burning Man Festival. I had so much fun playing this set. Maybe the most fun DJing I've ever had!  The energy on the dancefloor was unreal and the crowd was bigger than I expected.  This set starts funky and builds to a fast tempo energetic climax followed by a bass house and then deep house finish. Great for the peak of a dance party!

This is my live recording of my energetic house set performed at Sky Bar sound stage at Burn in the Forest - BC's Regional Burning Man Festival. It was a blast to play this set at such an awesome stage, and the crowd had a ton of energy! The set starts fun and light and works its way to an energetic climax with lots of tech house and 80s throwbacks, and then comes off into a darker and moodier ending. I'm grateful for the opportunity to play at my favourite festival of the year! :)

Buon giorno!  It's been a few minutes since I put out a mixtape and for that I apologize.  But it's 2019 now and new year new approach. :) Some of my time has been dedicated to keeping up on live gigs and for a while now I've been wanting to kinda get away from live shows and focus more on mixtapes and more from a personal point of view without the demands of a live show.  I want to focus more on eclectic and interesting music for the dome more than beats for the club.  Though it's absolutely not for lack of having fun because my last handfull of gigs were all very good times.  :)  Speaking of, I meant to publish my live set from the Shinto at the last WTF but never got around to it, but this one was super special so I wanted to make sure I shared it.  It was such an honor to fill this slot at the Shinto, the mystical heart of WTF and one of the most beautiful spaces ever.  I played Sunday night super late, right before sunrise.  All the other stages closed down right as I started so soon everyone awake in the entire festival was there.  I will never forget the scene.  Seratonin was taxed but the vibration was so amazing that weekend, everyone was on a cloud.  Looking out over the sea of faces all throbbing to the bass was all time.  Mega big ups to Allowe and her entire team (as well as the entire WTF family) for creating the magic, dishing out the miso buttery hospitality and conjuring an experience unlike any other.  The backstage scene that night was so great with so many friends holding it down.  It was really one of my favorite nights playing music ever.  It was a huge honor to be asked to fill that space at that time.  Thanks as well to Luke for being such a touchstone 	and getting the Funktion One humming real nice.  Apologies for the delay! For this episode, I'm very happy to introduce you to a BC duo: Naturalist. I first came across them from their excellent mix series and they've quickly become some of my favourite DJs in the BC interior. Their mix is a beautiful mix of melodies and worldly influences.

Naturalist Bio
Naturalist is made up of two music lovin' brothers, Sam Moffat and Caleb Brown from Fernie BC.

Don't let their last names confuse you, these brothers are known for bringing good vibes and their fun and energetic stage presence will make you want to join the fun just as much as their music does. They each bringing a unique style to the turntables and their live sets are made up of various styles of feel good house and disco bangers that come together to create a sound they call ‘Space Disco.’

2019 has been their breakthrough year and after winning the Kootenay Music Awards ‘Artist Of The Year’ they shared their sound to the largest crowd they have ever played for at The Living Room Stage at Shambhala.

The future looks bright for these boys, and they are ready to run with it.

The Parkcast Volume 23 - Guest Mix: Naturalist

Shot onto this planet through a galactic beam 31 years ago, Jake entered this planet and traversed this terrestrial plane searching in the way he could assist those in this realm. Since a very young age he was always surrounded by music, and felt the power it has over us. From headphones to festivals, he enjoyed the spaces it coloured... within and without. While growing in his vessel, he particularly grown akin to electronic music, but It was until the great shift of 2020 that he ventured forward into the world of djing to give it a spin.

Though once that first jog was spun, the beat-match was put to the gasoline, and ever since then, hes honed in on his sounds he wishes to play. Usually being pulled towards more uplifting, soulful or emotional melodic house/chill organic beats and mapping out a journey with them for the explorers to take on. He  aims to bring in a bit more intention to the listener to help them work through themselves on the dancefloor. But when duty calls, be able to throw down, turn it up and bring up the mood to blast you off. So strap in, turn on your soul, for this isnt a normal feild trip.
