Sorin Simon has always been attracted to music and it all started in his childhood
home of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he took piano lessons while still in school.

 in 2017 Sorin moved definitively to London where he started
playing different underground events all around London. A year later, he signed to Vivus Records, an underground/independent and vinyl-only label from South Germany. 

Sorin has played at multiple festivals both in Romania and abroad such as Monegros Desert Festival, Sonar Off in Spain, Back To The Wild and Electric Castle in Romania.

Thank you Sorin for this eclectic selection compostion, a real journey.

Oana Maria Puciu, or simply Oana, is a DJ and electronic music producer born in Craiova, Romania. The management of Ariki Records label, her membership to the global network #femalepressure, collaboration with Feeder.ro or Electronic Beats and her recent contract with the agency Tauri in Stockholm, keep the artist busy and always on the move. Her travels have begun to mix with experiences that take her beyond the boundaries of club music into the field of sound therapy. Perhaps her most interesting qualities are her honesty and openness to new understandings…
 

Oana immediately stands out with a long and substantial introduction: a voice that resembles Allan Watts invites us to face our fears, over a peaceful ambient soundscape. With birds chirping and a playful classic guitar, eerie synth notes add to the psychedelic flavour of this opening. In an audacious mixing, the artist introduces percussions and rhythm elements, as we witness a sonic metamorphosis into a dancing setting. Rich basses spice up the mix along with Hispanic vocals. She really takes time in the narrative to develop a deep state of trance, with hypnotic shamanic loops that intertwine in a forest scenery. The steady progression goes back and forth between raw, old-school tracks and mesmerizing jungle atmospheres. In the end, this set is a door to another dimension and real food for the soul, peppered with bizarre details and meaningful messages all along the performance.

Nebulaee gives voice to this common will, opening the EP with a unique sounding gem, “Human Interaction”, very true to the artist’s soundscape, which is followed by Sacha Dive’s interpretation, taking it to a darker and more physical journey. On the other side, “Depths of Being Neglected” is a dubby cut with a straight punch, with Diogo Magalhães on remix duties, twisting the track’s mood with an hypnotic, mature piece, “Desire”. Deep Owen - Inner Divinity (Tales of Citadel Remix)

Fixate is the latest name to make his mark in the 85 /170bpm axis. His productions have come to prominence via two collaborations with Chimpo titled 'Dumb' and 'Bun It' released on Exit Records and a two solo EPs.

Around the time of the Chimpo collabs conversations began about a solo EP of his own, the results of which made up the Throwback Therapy EP. The title track for the EP has become an anthem due to its amalgam of rave, juke & jungle whilst the rest of the EP takes a form all of its own.

His style is best described by Exit Records figurehead dBridge: "We all know the standardised drum & bass steps but Fixate's work can have a different swing to it that I really like. It highlights my belief that this tempo still has a lot to offer" Now we have The March On EP, a triumph of styles that has already gained support from across the electronic music scene.

Ben Böhmer - Little Lights

For our seventh edition of our podcast series we welcome, French-Canadian selector, Daoust. Based out of Montreal, Daoust has been a fixture in the North American underground scene for a decade. His recent focus has been on new project, mini_malace, with there being a live component which is a combination of himself and friend Hooll. He is also A&R for labels Minimadelic and Archipel. 

The mix that he has composed is a relaxed tempo that is intricately designed full of flavours from artists such as Artifuel, Escu and Greenn.

First podcast by Jos Lok who released on archipel in the last years and is also a close collaborator to Pheek's studio.

Jos lok is a Techno and House producer from Groningen, the Netherlands.
Jos Lok is a DJ and producer residing in the beautiful city of Groningen, the Netherlands. Jos has been obsessed with rhythmical sounds from a young age. He naturally started moving his feet or nodding his head when hearing even a hint of groove. Not only catchy percussion caught his attention, deep emotional chords and melodies were also very welcome. As a result of his encompassing love for music, Jos started playing the drums when he was nine years old. After a few years of going through the metal music repertoire and playing in a band he acquired a new taste in music. His focus was redirected to Techno music back when he first entered the club and festival scene. Evidently, he started producing his own Techno and House. A stripped down beat, groovy bass and just the right chords or another melodic component is the perfect formula for inspiration for Jos.
Nowadays, Jos Lok manages to make a wonderful blend of minimalistic sounds and House music. His style can be distinctly categorised by its aim for innovation. His tracks can be described as a colourful story that progresses into a strong groove. His music has been released on labels such as Archipel and Vivus records. Jos Lok receives support from artist like Pheek, Christhoper Ledger, David Gtronic and Noah Skelton.

Schmaus is a fellowship of minimal music lovers who passionately believe in the great talent that has been developed over the years in Romania and abroad.
It all started in 2014 in Timișoara (western Romania), when minimal enthusiasts teamed up to create ephemeral spaces for artists to express their art without any restrictions. These special events aimed for the highest sophistication of sound, as well as a space for people enjoy the events and want to be able to "let go" for the night. Schmaus had the immense privilege to host genuine artists from the scene such as Mihai Pol, Macarie, Gescu, Melodie, Teluric, Paul K, Lizz, Cosmjn, only to name a few.
When the pandemic started, the next logical step was to keep the same idea of unity through selected podcast performances … but we promise that we will all dance again in the near future!
