The slick haired Job and bushy Berend appeared to have shared the same vision of music ever since high school. Misunderstood by the rest of the class who where hiding under Rihanna’s umbrella, the two liberated themselves listening to Drexciya and Legowelt. Not long afterwards their lovechild was born: Schmutz.

The question is: tame your haircut or let the back brush grow freely? Like walking a tightrope, the goal is to find balance. A too well organized approach will result in a flat and predictable performance. A wild and unguided execution will lead to a puzzling and incomprehensible outcome.
Sharing their love for drum machines, Schmutz found that delicate balance. Their sets are a divine gift for the trained ear, with essential imperfections in the soundwaves.
