From of a set of solo cello pieces by 12 composers, written for Rostropovich in honor of Paul Sacher. always the renegade, Boulez not only submitted his late, but also had written it for 7 cellos (ensemble of 6 + 1 solo) instead of just one.

Performed in September 2010 with the Lucerne Festival Academy.
