[2024] Twisted Arcade - Final Round (Progressive Psytrance)

Random Records brings you DECIBEL with his mix he titled "A Wander with the Unicorns", which contains original tracks from GastraxX & Decibel’s album "Unicorn Hotel" with some solo Decibel tracks and unreleased Sonic Scullery tracks sprinkled through. Mat Cristiano is an Australian based electronic music producer writing a manner of genres across many collabs from over 20 years. Like many of the 90s generation in Australia this journey began in the bush party scene around Byron Bay where he became immersed in the sound of goa and psytrance delivered by amazing artists like Oli Wisdom and Ray Castle. Uniting with Jorge from Random Records has helped bring this music to the world and helped to meet so many like minded artists creating many rewarding collaborations. Timo Neff (GastraxX) and Decibel teamed up for their first album which was released in 2018 and now with the upcoming combined project under the project name of Sonic Scullery.

Here are a collection of some of my favourite tunes :-)

Starting at 124BPM, the journey begins with couple of bouncy fresh releases from Bassic Records, as we frolic carefree in the Australian Bushland. Things then take a slightly sinister turn, as some dark psychedelic forces harnessed by the Wizard Electrypnose infiltrate the surroundings. With the clouds finally clearing, the tempo is lifted a tad, and the sun begins to shine. We are now powering full steam ahead into techy progressive territory, with Sonopictorial delivering an array of funky goods. Next we have beautiful melodies and complex bass lines, with vibrations sent out to explore the cheeky space between beats - Tristan Boyle and Terrafractyl.

We eventually reach the land of full-on, where dark beings manifest geometric structures out of nothing-ness. Tristan and Earthling juggle their firey bass, Phillax coming through triumphantly with his majestic piano, while Sonic Species performs a slamdunk. Thing quickly spiral out of control. But that's fine...

As a wise man would probably say: 

"Relax. NOTHING is in control...."

￼Behind the psytrance project “Shogan” is Slobodan Vulic from Montenegro. He started career during the 90’s playing techno and trance music. Since the beginning of 2009 he is starting to produce Psytrance. The releases is published for: Phoenix Groove, Ovnimoon Records, Spiral Trax and more labels. Shogan is today part of TesseracTstudio label. Many Eps, two Cd Albums and single tracks have been released during last years and has been more time on the Psytrance top charts. Made collaboration and remixes with artists such as: Vibrasphere, Logic Bomb, Zyce & Gaudium, Liquid Sound, Ascent… In 2013 year he established two record labels (Sting Records and Hi-Trip Records) with his friends and artists Ascent and Liquid Sound. Also founded “Sting Records Events” organization in 2016, and going with organizing parties in Montenegro. For these last years he played in many clubs and festivals, like as: Psychedelic Circus, Musicology Festival, Psy Island, Plur Festival and etc… He is a part of “Pitch & Destroy” organization which was established back in 2002 year, with the goal of spreading the Psychedelic culture across Montenegro. His style is Progressive Psytrance.
