The London-based James Dexter teams up with Denney for a slick three tracker on Steve Bug’s Sublease Records. 

Dexter had been producing quality house and tech for over a decade now, and his past few releases have seen him turn out for Bondage, Gruuv, Cyclic or Inermu, while Denney already released on Crosstown Rebels, 2020 Vision, Poker Flat and Hot Creations. 

With Denney co-producing the EP, we are treated to three perfectly-realised slices of contemporary dancefloor science. 

Katsu is a prime time groover, building a vibe through a deceptive groove and well judged vocal samples. Next up is For You - a crisp, rolling track with deep percussion and recognisably sultry vo- cal. Last but not least is This Groove - perhaps the toughest cut on the release, a surefire deep bomb built around tasty breakbeat-style percs and some wobbly acid touches.

Definitive Recordings is thrilled to announce the reissue of “Seriously”, a beloved house classic by Jetstream, the alias of acclaimed producer Karl E. Kowalski. Originally released in 1992, “Seriously” returns in a remastered five-track EP that revives the magic of its early 90s roots.

The EP opens with Jetstream’s own remix of “Seriously”, delivering a modernized, deeper take on the track’s signature groove. This is followed by the original version, a quintessential slice of 90s house music that still captivates with its infectious rhythm and undeniable energy. For those seeking a more stripped- back approach, Jetstream’s “Dodgy Dub” offers a reduced, dub-heavy rendition, pushing the track into a more minimal, hypnotic direction while maintaining its core vibe.

The EP also features a standout remix by Richie Hawtin, operating under his F.U.S.E. alias. Hawtin brings his mastery to “Seriously”, creating a remix that blends house and techno in a sleek, pulsating manner, perfect for deeper, late-night sets. Closing out the EP is a remix by Mark Goodliff, who appears here as Mr. Clubman. Goodliff’s take on “Seriously” injects a classic house piano riff, adding a vibrant, uplifting feel to the track, making it a must-play for any house purist.

Each version on this EP highlights a different facet of classic house and deep house, reflecting the genre’s diversity and timelessness. From the original’s raw energy to the subtleties of the dub mix, and the piano- driven bounce of the Mr. Clubman remix, this reissue serves as both a tribute to and evolution of the sounds that defined house music in its early days.

Schub Loops, born in the mid-80s, had his first experiences with music in 2004 when he started creating hip hop beats with Fruity Loops. In 2008, he discovered and fell in love with Hamburg’s techno scene, which inspired him to work on house and tech house beats while still staying true to his hip hop roots. His funk and soul-inspired tracks also reflect his love for hip hop. In 2011, he debuted as a DJ at an illegal open-air event in the green north of Hamburg. Afterward, he performed at various techno clubs in Hamburg. Meanwhile, he continued to produce, arrange, and release several tracks, followed by his first music video for the track "What It Takes."
