My 80's Love Affair Vol. 2

Here is my latest mix in the Expansion Project series, full of rare Disco cuts. I tried to include as many different styles of Disco in here as I could, such as Space Disco, Italo, Hi-NRG, Hustle etc.  I'm a pretty big Funk, Soul and Disco fan, and I'm beyond envious of the folks that got to experience parties at The Loft, Paradise Garage, and to a lesser extent, Studio 54.  At least SF has a pretty fun Disco party called Go Bang.  Look it up if you wanna hear some choice cuts.  

This mix was spun the way I imagine DJs would spin tracks back in the 70's and 80's, letting songs ride out and breathe.  People have such short attention spans these days and sometimes I really wish there were more 2 hour DJ sets.  Anyhow, enjoy, and please share if you dig it.  Special shout out to my friend Kevin Mapp who let me raid his vinyl collection back in the day.  Almost a third of these tracks are from him.

The show was recorded in Amsterdam out in Dutch nature under Dutch conditions and was meant to be the first show of a string of European dates I was set to play postponed because of Covid. The show must go on!

Funky Smoothie ( Summer edition ) Part 8

This was probably the hardest mix I've ever made, with all the BPM changes, key changes, live drums and various sound levels, but I had to give it a shot.  It's all instrumental Funk and Jazz Funk, mostly from the 70's.  I've been wanting to make a mix like this for years since funk is probably my favorite genre of music, but I didn't quite have the skill level a few years ago to pull it off.  Anyhow, many of these tracks were most likely sampled by some of your favorite Hip Hop artists, so you may recognize a few of these gems.
