Worked on this 1 year ago...it was the first attempt to record after rough track selection and bit preparation for marking the perfect starting points. Normally still not final yet and also a beatport hold bin still waiting since 1 year to get on my HD and in the mix...but no time for music and also in the coming months noootzzziiiing. A bit of everything in this mix, but mostly just love, for the place and for the people on that floor. Absolutely one for the books.

Tagavaka is a music and art project coming out of Scotland, UK. Tagavaka means to drift away, in search of love, adventure, or closure. Tagavaka embodies the idea of searching or seeking something, and the music is the companion to it as part of that journey.

Ivan Hall Barrientos, the producer and composer behind Tagavaka, has a rich background in music – a classically trained pianist-turned-music producer who has been involved in the creation of various music projects that have amassed over 100,000,000 streams globally.

After self-releasing his debut EP ‘Tagavaka’ in 2020, the project has since gained the attention of dance music titans Anjunadeep – signing 6 tracks in one fell swoop. With tracks included in their flagship compilation series at the start of 2021, Tagavaka released his debut EP ‘Extrapolate’ which piqued the interest from the likes of Eli & Fur, Lane 8, and Alan Fitzpatrick.

Since then, further releases (Water EP, Bijou EP, and Sun Rings EP) gained Tagavaka debut performances supporting Max Cooper, and performing at the unique Anjunadeep Explorations festival.

Tagavaka is supported by PRS Foundation's The Open Fund.

There are still a few places on this planet which almost nobody has seen yet or which are even completely unspoilt by civilization. These remote areas often harbor extremely rare species of animals and plants and tickle the fantasy of some writers.
One of these places is the Roraima Tepui, a table mountain with an elevation of 2810 meter, which is located on the frontier of 3 countries : Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana.
The first man to climb this mountain was a British explorer in the year 1884. Before that day, nobody had dared to venture into the area out of superstition. Back then, it was rumored that some extinct species of animals actually still lived on this table mountain. Although such a sensational discovery didn’t happen, it must have been an overwhelming feeling to be the very first human being to venture into this hidden world. Every step a new adventure, every exploration without road signs, admiring all these wonders of nature without capturing it with a selfie-stick.
Of course the discovery of this unique world did not stay a secret for long. The news of this breathtaking expedition spread quickly and the author of Sherlock Holmes even brought dinosaurs to the Roraima Tepui, at least in his novel ‘The Lost World’.
We still have one compelling question about this place : which noises are there to be heard in this remote spot? To answer that question, we think that nobody on this planet is better placed than Vemativ and in this deep story you’ll have the unique opportunity to discover the sound of this unspoilt part of our planet…

Chris Tiebo likes to share his music while being in the moment: various styles from Deep House to Techno are ingeniously combined with a touch of world music, thus expressing his very personal way to live music and feel the energy it gives off. Since 1990, Chris Tiebo has been passionate about electronic sounds starting with New Wave and then Techno. In 1996, he decides to become a DJ to be as one with the audience. After few years of hard work, he becomes a resident in a club, then everything came together very quickly until sharing his passion on radio. As years go by, his desires evolves and the wish to produce his own music imposes to him. However, through this long learning process, his second passion, photography, brings him the opportunity to work in one of the best club in the world.
