Throughout the pandemic Hybrid has continued to flourish as a global hub for like-minded artists to connect and collaborate. There are no strict music laws here except that it has to be great and produced with love. Hybrid is about bringing people together to explore and create new approaches and fusions with electronic music. To spread the love further we are donating the proceeds of this compilation to Macmillan Cancer Research by working in partnership with Touched Music who have been a huge inspiration to us for all the good work they do and the amazing music they release!

Galactic Funk co-founder Bertram lands on Dead Channel with his debut EP Kibra Cadena. Literally translated as ‘break chains’ in Aruban creole, and broadly referencing the breaking of colonial chains of imperial oppression, this six track EP of tense, brooding rhythms is driven and gritty. Spanning mutated psychedelic dub, Giallo-tinged cinematix, frenzied insidious acid, and methodically churning crispers, this stunning work is singular in its execution and focused in its vision. After successful releases on KitoKat Records and having ended up on the podiums of remix contests for Shlømo, Hadone and, more recently, the Dynamic Reflection label, Clarence Rise is proud to present you his first album!

On the verge of collapse, false prophets are the masters of our streets, which have once again become the ill-famed boudoirs of an era we thought was over. They lavish the naive with the hope of a redemption that will never come, but feed on the fear of the other and of tomorrow. They erect protective towers without windows, but do not see the water rising in the avenues. Their followers dream of finding the now indescribable sensation of cold on their skin. Slaves of this blind faith, they break all ties with their environment, their land, and their free will.

While they were at the source of our uncontrolled skidding, new tangential beliefs may emerge. How many will be the fools running to listen to the last verses of their idols. How many will be the others seeking peace of the moment rather than the reminiscences of the past?

Bio: 
Friedrich Ernst spins electro, breakbeat and UK bleep records. He is the founder of the record label Self Learning System as well as the "Popular Problems" event series together with his partner in crime DJ Unisex. They are also transmitting a residency show called "Intergalactic Rhythms" via Callshop Radio. 
Recently he made some waves with vinyl releases on his own label and tracks on compilations by F.T.P, Ovelha Trax & Defrostatica. His tracks are being played by Sedeff Adasi, SNC Crew, Burial Soil, Viikatory and Millium to name a few. 
This year he is focusing again on his live performance with high energy breakbeat music and you should keep your eyes and ears pealed for what is to comes next.
