In the first Science of Nerds podcast, I introduce myself and discuss bringing my satirical science lectures on how to become Batman, Star Trek vs Star Wars and Godzilla biology to the stage of the New York International Fringe Festival, and the obstacles, both foreign and domestic, that have sprung up during that process. I also invite other FringeNYC participants to share their stories with me on future podcasts.

This week, we hear from Matthew Dicken, the creator and performer of another New York International Fringe Festival Show, "butyou'reaman or: The Seven Men I Came Out to in India." In it, the out-since-13 American Matthew navigates travels in India, finds love and must relearn to "see queer."

I also share more of my own procrastination journey to FringeNYC, from the set of the longest running Star Trek TOS fan series, "Star Trek: New Voyages," where I play Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu.

Science Of Nerds - Episode 2: Straights and Queers, Procrastinating Together

Bringing a show to FringeNYC. A frank discussion on the process of (procrastinating) preparing my show, "The Absolutely True Science of Nerds," to the New York International Fringe Festival. The show is a series of three satirical science lectures, on How to Become Batman, Star Trek vs Star Wars and Godzilla biology. 

I also speak with other FringeNYC creators to share stories of their runs to the Festival.

Down the line, the podcast will be dedicated to all things science and nerdy.
