Very interesting concept, we as humans cant even control our emotions, morals etc. so would be interesting to how we would program a robot to do the same. Most probably in a sandbox environment, like a robot universe were they would interact with each other. Kind of like how we are living on earth lol

This week scientists unveiled a robot that can sustain injury to one of its six legs, think for a few minutes, and devise a more efficient way to walk—by essentially “limping” away as fast as possible. Jeff Clune and his colleagues accomplished the feat by endowing the robot with what they call a "simulated childhood" of possible motions, and letting the robot figure out the rest.
 
How far can this sort of robotic thought go? According to computer scientist Ashok Goel, if robots have unlimited capability to learn, "why would there be a limit to emotional intelligence?" After all, he says, humans aren’t born with a full set of emotional and ethical intelligence—children learn it by observing adults.

Once, there was the ordinary incandescent light bulb. It shone brightly, but wasted much of the energy put into it as heat. Then came the compact fluorescent. And as costs have dropped, consumers have increasingly been switching to light-emitting diode (LED) technology for many lighting applications, in an ongoing search for a more efficient bulb. Now, in work published in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, researchers report that nanophotonic devices may be able to breathe new life into old incandescent technology. Marin Soljačić and Ognjen Ilic, two authors of the study, explain how they’ve been able to “recycle” some of the incandescent bulb’s wasted heat and re-emit it as visible light, boosting efficiency.
