The next release from the re-activated Frank & Tony drops on Scissor and Thread. Following on from Dream Vibration - which broke a five year hiatus from the much-lauded production pair of Francis Harris and Anthony Collins - Eastern Meantimes brings us a sublime set of tracks and remixes. 

The original features New York artist Eliana Glass, whose sultry vocals ride above a deep, atmospheric groove and lush pads and washes. 

The track is also presented here with two stellar remixes from Timmy Regsiford, the New York legend who has been defining the sound of house in the city for nearly 40 years. 

Here his vocal and instrumental remixes are smooth, deep and infectious, sure to light up discerning dance- floors the world over. 
Frank & Tony’s Absence is the other original track here, a thick, pulsing bass-driven roller punctuated with sharp snares and the pair’s trademark ethereal pads. 

There’s also a digi exclusive where Regisford teams up with DSOL for a ‘retouch’ of Eastern Melodies - giving the track another flavor, rich in additional percussion and a slightly heavier groove.

DJ, producer, songwriter, musician and label boss Omid Nourizadeh, also known as Omid 16B, has forged a unique and prolific career as one of the world’s most talented and respected producers with over 20 years contributing to the scene. Growing up in London, with Persian roots, he’s highly regarded as a pioneer of the tech house movement back in the early nineties, alongside Carl Craig, Craig Richards, Mr C, Steve Bug and Francois K. Omid has released on labels such as Eye Q, Hooj Choons, Stomp/EQ, Yoshitoshi, Ministry Of Sound, Deconstruction, Tsuba and Bedrock, as well as his own labels aLOLa and SexOnWax Recordings. Hi impressive portfolio of music boasts 5 albums, including his hugely acclaimed debut 'Sounds From Another Room’ (1998), 'How To Live 100 Years' (2002), the two-part ‘Like 3 Ears & 1 Eye' (2007), ‘Silenciety’ (2019), and ’SunTzu’ (2020). Finally getting a vinyl re-release is Frank & Tony’s seminal work with breakout duo Bob Moses. Back in 2012 Francis Harris and Anthony Collins (Frank & Tony) worked with their fellow New Yorkers before they went on to sign to Domino Records.  

The four track EP is a deep, introspective dive into Frank & Tony’s early production work with the understated melancholic vocal stylings of Bob Moses (Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallence) that would pave the way to a new sound in house music. An essential release now for the first time on vinyl, capturing a vital period in both outfits' development.

I was listening to Continuum for the millionth time last night, so I decided to give this track a continuum-themed name despite having no John Mayer inspiration musically for this particular beat.
