Timo picked up DJing in the late 90’s and started curating the long running podcast series deeprhythms.com in 2001. Most recently he started Echocentric Records and joined Coymix Ltd. Always working with one thing in mind: to dig a little deeper. 

For the ZeeZout podcast series he choose the ethereal, somewhat cosmic end of the electronic music spectrum to recreate that dance floor vibe we’ve all been missing greatly.

Beads of sweat poured down his face as he picked up the pace, panting vigorously as he tried to catch his breath. It felt as if he'd been running forever, as if the chase would never end. It had been a while since he'd looked over his shoulder to check if he'd lost them. The fear had been keeping him going, spurring him on to reach his destination whatever the consequences at the end of it.

As Harmonious Thelonious, German producer Stefan Schwander has been exploring deep, textural rhythms, inspired by his love of American minimalism and African drum patterns. His new EP, Aventure, for Couldn't Care More is no different; across three tracks he hypnotises the senses, the compositions effortlessly flowing from the bright and minimal to the dark and hypnotic.

PREMIERE: Harmonious Thelonious - Ta Ta Ta [Couldn’t Care More]

Some were straight and abhorrent whilst others were rugged and disorganised, cluttered like etched shapes upon a bumpy rock. These were the lines of his youth, each told a story of something from his past and if you followed it from end to end you might just weave far enough to find yourself back at the start. Out here in the middle of the rocky outback there were lines and stories to be found everywhere. You simply had to read between them all and follow suit. 

Sketchy Lines is a newly launched project based in Brussels, described as a multi gender project the imprint is focussed on graphic design, experimental music and collaboration. The first release comes from label founder Salah, an intriguing record which shows signs of promise for the future of the label.

Nadia Khan returns on Scissor and Thread for another sublime mini LP, Port Ana. Based in North Carolina, Khan first drew a lot of attention via a cassette release on Where To Now? Records in 2015. 
Her sophomore statement was the beautiful In Gleam released in 2018 on Francis Harris’ Brooklyn-based label, which set the tone for these five tracks of meditative music. 
The title track Port Ana opens the journey - a gentle, droning soundscape with effortlessly bewitching glints of melody. 
Conversation follows on, drawing on loops and textures to create the background for a deep, pulsing kick drum. The sounds shift and evolve, leaving a hazy sense of movement to drift away to. 
Next up is Objects In Form which presents a fragile chord progression that barely holds itself together, surrounded by shifting pads and swathes of reverb. 
Rain Again is presented here in two versions. The original combines ethereal sounds, weightless and adrift, while the Lawrence remix firmly grounds the track with a hypnotic, deep groove. The Dial boss provides another remix for the digital release that further plays with the textures of the original to create something that works both for an open minded dancefloor and as a home listening experience.

Mattr present his Salix EP, a record containing 4 original tracks which combine strong atmospherics and melodic progression with solid rhythmic elements.

From the laid back dystopia of the opening track "Menieres" to the halftime glow of "Toro". This record has a breadth to it that really takes it somewhere different and offers the listener something new.

Out this December on Loft & Sound, Mattrs "Salix" is a work of textural brilliance, combining well loved sounds and more experimental ideas to great effect
