Featuring two tracks ‘Conjure Dreams’ and ‘Conjure Floyd’, both are peak time monsters that introduce two very different elements. ‘Conjure Dreams’ utilises a groovy, melodic bass that is reinforced using tight thumping drums to shatter any dance floor into the universe. ‘Conjure Floyd’ builds into a more ‘heads down’ techno vibe with a very interesting breakdown. The true techno dream team of Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann revisit their Elements project from a few years ago with a new series of killer remixes. Terra - originally released in 2011, did all sorts of damage to dance-floors across the globe. Now, it’s all set to do it again thanks to this Joseph Capriati Remix. The Italian techno headliner has grown into a major force on the scene in recent years, and here delivers a signature slice of muscular, driving techno - taut, dramatic and devastating. Paired with a remix of the now seminal Feugo Julien Jeweil’s remix also hits the spot - the track received a 2016 overhaul with some of Jeweil’s signature flair. The Frenchman has been a constant figure on the top of various charts and line ups for some time, and its easy to see why - Fuego is stripped back machine funk primed for big systems and even bigger moments.

Following the success of ‘Ride’ with Miss Kittin, eminent SCI+TEC founder Dubfire returns with another chaos-conjuring techno composition. Previously the sole-preserve of his epic sense-blurring HYBRID show, Dubfire is finally unleashing ‘Dust Devil’…

His first solo release in several years, ‘Dust Devil’ is all about precision momentum. A move that Dubfire’s made his signature, you can physically feel movement and destination throughout. Especially as we reach the short breakdown where the riff revolves faster and higher, providing space for the echoed stabs that whirl and twist around you intensely. As the drums re-ignite, the riff is suddenly converted into groove energy as the jack-minded persistence brings the elements back

together with pure focus. This is what Ali has to say…

“This was an instrumental I had done that I wasn’t quite sure what to do with. It wasn’t strong enough for a lead single and it always felt as though there was something missing; perhaps a spoken or sung vocal. So I sort of put it out of my mind until it was time to compile the music for the HYBRID show back in the summer of 2013. Once I had the backbone of the set list, along with the visual look, there seemed to be a more defined mood and look. And when I happened upon this track again it seemed to have been tailor-made for this show. It was also nice to insert something no one had heard before to break things up a bit.”

So has Maksim Dark’s remix of Dubfire’s classic ‘Rabid’. A staple weapon in Richie Hawtin’s sets since he debuted it at Timewarp, young Russian talent Maksim takes us back to the roots of Ali’s journey as Dubfire, stripping out the hypnotic percussion of the original while retaining the intoxicating textures and twisted processed vocal. Fixing our focus on the space-aged, widescreen synth strikes and relentless low-end pulsation, Maksim unlocks the SCI+TEC soul with his own set of unique keys.

Last spotted on the label last year with his critically accepted ‘Mountain’ EP, it’s clear Maksim has found his spiritual home. Drop either of these in the mix and we’re sure you’ll point many more people in the direction of their own personal spiritual stomping grounds. As always with Dubfire, techno materials of this weight simply can’t be handled lightly.
