Luigi Madonna returns to Drumcode a year after his superb single ‘Primo’ using familiar hooks, huge stabs and monstrous drums that storm across the dance floor which, are common with Mr Madonna. The hard hitting raw vibe of this EP gives Luigi an edge, with fluttering high’s and saturated lows, Luigi’s tracks are a mainstay in all DJ sets. The EP encompasses different emotions throughout that can be felt within the track ‘Singer One’, offering a more mellow side to Luigi’s already expansive catalogue.

As part of the Minus family, his first hit 'Exclusive My Ass' helped launch his name into the limelight, which came via Richie Hawtin’s New Horizons mix project in 2012.

2013 saw him release two of his biggest tracks to date, both from Minus on the EP Sonus.1. The two tracks  'Saw' and 'Triangle' topped the Beatport Minimal charts. His next EP 'Itanimulli' on Dubfire’s equally influential SCI+TEC label, soon followed that landmark release with similar praise.

'Famous in Amsterdam' sees Joop deliver once again with his signature sound that has seen him frequent SCI+TEC as a regular. Rough and tough techno grime meets clean and crisp minimal perfection. The lead track provides a haunting synth mixed with sinister mind bending vocals. For those that loved 'Triangle', this track has the same eerie balance and doesn’t fail to impress.

Next up is '4 the b33f' which again delivers on that 'what the f**k is going on' vibe, bringing serious beef to the floor! This pounding cut is not for the faint of heart, pushing the fine line between clean and crisp engineering and raw and distorted sound scapes.

To round out the EP, Egbert is on for remix duty. In true Egbert fashion, he lights it up with his signature groovy swinging touch that slightly dabbles in tech house flavor while still keeping that techno drive in sight.

Freezing winters, packed after-hours, and a scene that thrives just outside the spotlight is Montreal’s rhythm. This VA draws from that energy.

Guy Laliberté invited a handful of local artists reworking Cirque du Soleil in their own language: raw, stripped-back, and built for the dance floor.

Each remix brings something different to the table, but they’re united by a shared sense of restraint. The grooves are tight, and the low-end does most of the talking. You’ll recognize the DNA of the originals, but the context is new.

Hicky & Kalo’s take on Temperatio stands out for its deep emotional pull — hypnotic yet understated, it channels the track’s theatrical origins into something more intimate and meditative, perfectly tuned for the early hours.

This VA is about grounding Cirque du Soleil in the pulse of the city. In studios, on dark floors, through sound systems that favor pressure over perfection. It’s a subtle, thoughtful collection that reflects where Montreal is at right now.

As part of Frooogs Records’ ongoing remix series, the Montreal VA takes Cirque’s legacy and gives it a new frame — one that feels lived-in, local, and ready for after hours.

<p>In the same vein as her recently launched MOOD imprint, Believe is suited to a number of atmospheres and settings. Across the nine original productions and one collaboration with label boss Adam Beyer, Nicole has crafted a sonically diverse long-player of sounds which draw on the plethora of styles electronic music has to offer. From her accustomed techno to twisted house and everything in-between, the stylistic variety on offer means cuts Believe will easily feature in more intimate settings and big-room venues alike. Believe features a host of tracks aimed squarely at the clubs. From the moody Movin On, the bass-heavy Do Your Thing, to the industrial techno grooves on Come And Lay and the hypnotic chanting vocal on Get On It, the techno-aficionados will not be disappointed with what is sublime set of cuts that will no doubt destroy any dance-floor. </p>

<p>In contrast however, there are more intimate moments to be found. For example the rhythmically entrancing yet uplifting Fly With You, to Liberum Spirita with its mazy ethereal breakdown, and the synth-heavy percussive builder Lumière Tamisée. Nicoles further flexes her production muscle with the stripped back dub-flavours of Big Love With No Apology, and a robotic groove-laden funk on the standout Can I Get Some. Believe delivers a consummate body of work with which Nicoles considerable abilities in the studio are clear for all to hear.
