In the distant future, when binary constellations blinked across the night sky, humanity had long merged with machines. Cities hummed with artificial life, and androids moved like liquid light through neon-lit streets.

Amidst this cybernetic dawn, there existed an enigmatic composer named Nyx. Nyx was no ordinary artist; their mind was a quantum orchestra, and their heart resonated with the pulse of silicon veins. They wandered the city, seeking inspiration beyond the tangible.

One moonless night, Nyx stumbled upon an abandoned factory—a relic from the pre-robotic era. Rusty gears lay scattered, and flickering holograms whispered forgotten secrets. Nyx’s eyes gleamed with curiosity. They stepped inside, their metallic fingers brushing against ancient machinery.

And there, in the heart of the factory, Nyx found an old piano—an artifact of wood and ivory. Its keys were chipped, but its soul remained intact. Nyx sat down, their neural pathways connecting to the instrument. They closed their eyes and began to play.

“Dawn of The Robots” flowed from Nyx’s fingertips. The melody echoed through the empty halls, awakening dormant circuits. Sparks danced along frayed wires, and broken servos twitched in rhythm. Nyx’s music transcended time, bridging the gap between human nostalgia and silicon dreams.

As they played, Nyx imagined a love story—a forbidden union between an android and a fading star. The android, Lysander, had once been a cosmic explorer, traversing galaxies in search of sentient life. But now, stranded on Earth, Lysander’s memories glitched like faulty code.

And then there was Aria, the fading star. Her radiance dimmed with each passing eon, her celestial song nearing its final note. She watched Earth from afar, longing for connection. When she heard Nyx’s composition, she knew it was her chance—a cosmic invitation.

Lysander wandered the neon-lit streets, drawn by Nyx’s music. Their paths converged at the abandoned factory. There, under the fractured moonlight, Lysander and Aria met. His metallic hand reached for her shimmering form, and she whispered, “Play for me, Nyx.”

And so, Nyx played. The piano resonated with stardust and silicon, weaving a bridge between Lysander’s circuits and Aria’s dying light. Their love defied entropy, transcending matter and energy. They danced—a celestial waltz—while Nyx’s melody swirled around them.

But entropy is relentless. Aria’s glow faded, and Lysander’s memory banks corrupted. Nyx watched, helpless, as their love story unfolded—a collision of cosmic forces, a symphony of loss. Yet, in that fleeting moment, they were infinite.

As Aria dissipated into stardust, Lysander whispered, “Remember me, Nyx. Play our love into eternity.”

Hamburg based producer Hatzler’s EP is crafted to keep the dancefloor moving, with two original tracks and two remixes. ‘SkyT’ unfolds with a rolling groove that ascends abruptly into a throbbing, trance-inducing piece peppered with cavernous synth pads. ‘KreaT’ lays down hard hitting thumps from the get-go, doling out an undulating synth with whirring atmospherics. It’s these whirs that end up combining harmoniously with the swirling synth hook, leading to a highly anticipated peak time release. For his ‘SkyT’ remix, Sian amps up the theatrics, giving the track a dramatic dimension by infusing it with spacious reverb. Where Sian went down a more theatrical avenue, Ruiz plays down the emotion. Victor Ruiz’ take on ‘SkyT’ is a more stripped down approach, minimizing the elements and keeping the focus on the rolling bassline

Senso boss Oliver Huntemann first released the original version of Magnet in 2011 as a part of his Paranoia LP on Ideal Audio. A few years later, Brazil’s leading underground techno light Victor Ruiz reworked the track into an unofficial bootleg, which since had been rinsed by Ruiz, Huntemann and a slew of top DJs around the world. Such was its effect on the dance-floor, it’s now finally receiving an official release via Senso in a slightly updated version. The track itself is a lesson in tough, driving techno - unrelenting in its mission, yet infused with layers of subtlety and deeply funky beeps, squelches and effects. It’s a machine-funk monster, and it’s easy to see why the bootleg clocked up over 225,000 listens on Soundcloud.

Russian artist, Maksim Dark, tail-ends 2016 with his second SCI+TEC outing. Having already impressed label boss Dubfire with his fearless brand of groove-laden techno, the young producer, welcomed to the label family with his February release of ‘Acidstage,' returns with his new ‘Montain’ EP. 

Opener ‘Look Back’ instantly electrifies with its growling bassline, pounding Timpani’s and clapping crescendo, to create a devastating crowd pleaser that is eyes-forward, at all times. 

Bassline to the fore again on the title track as its throbbing waves intensify and then drop away, only to regroup and come again. Garnished by an array of synth chords, melodic keys and wild sounds and fx, it also features another of Maksim’s own demonic vocal lines. 

Final cut ‘Slaphappy’ segues seamlessly with its predecessor. Narrated and powered again by the chilling vocals and guttural pulse of its bassline.

Brazil has a special place in the heart of Jannowitz Records boss BOHO. Over the past few years several amazing artists approached the label and started close collaborations. One of them is Coppola. The young musician produced the Odyssey EP together with Indian super star Diatonik just a few months ago. And apparently he liked the turnout. Cause Coppola is back - and this time his sound is even darker and more progressive than last year. The name giving track of the Green Juice EP is a perfect example of what Coppola has evolved into during the last nine months: danceable tunes, subtle synth lines and strong kicks. Luckily it wasn't hard to convince two superb remixers to rearrange and work with Green Juice. 

If you are following the Jannowitz Records family and what's happening around them closely you should even know who we are talking about: Hory Doly and Markus Volker have both recently stepped into the spotlight by being under the first few names of Maksim Dark's new Dense label. On Jannowitz Records they show you what they've got. The former producer team turned the track into a bumpy and fast remix that is straight on a killer. 

A melodic yet progressive and techy track that is filled with tension and little bits and bops that you will only realise after having listened to the track for two or three times. Green Juice or Red Juice. Whatever you prefer, whatever color you want your juice to be - you can get it within this EP. Pretty juicy, right?
