"Where do I go? Who do I call, when it's all crashing down?"

No one wants to navigate the world alone and on the contrary, love and the management of relationships can leave you feeling extremely vulnerable. At one point or another we've all experienced the feeling of helplessness...of loneliness...of extreme vulnerability. I've personally experienced numerous occasions during which the world around me felt like it was imploding and I felt as the though I had no one to turn to in my time of need or even worse, the person I've committed myself to is the one I find tearing down everything we've built. "Crashing" faces all of these feelings head on and challenges you to pour back into yourself. "Crashing" serves as a commemoration of quite a few things. The first being beauty and power of what we've built in as a community in the 
Future Surf Labs Radio Family and simultaneously as a time stamp for the first time I met and was privileged to witness the magic of the incredible alien fairy that is Brooke Leialoha. From the very first time that we met one another during that initial episode of FSR we connected on a spiritual level and with in hours of that meeting we created #Crashing.
"Crashing" is also the first time I've gotten the opportunity to extend all that Web 3 has offered me to other creatives deserving of every chance to share their light. I'm grateful that this release gets to be a safe way to show talents like Jalen & Ashton Woods the true power of community and exactly what it feels like to be able to create and share your art on your own terms. My goal to bring new creatives into the space with every release.

So last week we held a 24-Hour remix challenge for my new single with Brooke Leialoha "Crashing" in my good brother June Jissle's Twitch stream. We got 15 different submissions and from those I chose and gifted 3 winners (I'll be posting the other remixes soon). There was a lot of amazing submissions but the first to do so was another one of my brilliant brothers, Old Orleans. (Although he's "not a producer" his words not mine) He decided to lose his mind and toss this insane mash-up into the ring! This was my favorite remix to single so I thought you should have it. Enjoy.

I started working on a project called OG Cool (Only Good Comes Out Of Living) in the fall of 2013 with one of my good friends, Nash B. During that period of time we recorded 30-40 songs towards what I thought would be the final album. The summer of the following year I lost the only hard-drive that had every session file/trackout and bounce for my entire catalog of unreleased music (1200+ songs/production/demos) to that point, (OG Cool included). A few years ago I began to recover some of the music from that hard-drive (Thank God for clouds and email accounts lol) One of my favorites from those album sessions (and closest to me) is a song called "Brothers Talk". 


Growing up in the states as a child to an immigrant family, I grew used to not having a lot of blood-related family around me. It was always just me and my little brothers. This upbringing conditioned me to value the people closest to me as family and not just friends.

"Brothers Talk" was a chance for me to hold a conversation with two close friends (that have always been brothers to me) during their times of need. One friend lost a father and the other lost his way.  

I originally intended on placing this on the album but for now this is a just a marker for major moments in time. This is the last bounce I did after I originally recorded the record at my home studio.

 Much love to my lil bro Nash B for working with me on the production and the good homie, Myles Stefan for the amazing guitar solo at the end. 

This is me, no final mix, just soul & love. I appreciate you for walking on this journey with me. The way is just a little bit longer but we're almost there.

His birthday always coincides with the week of Martin Luther King Day and it always reminds me to reflect on the type of man that I have become. This record has been in the vaults for a long time now in various stages of pre-production but it accurately captures exactly how I feel and have felt for a long time and today felt like the time to deliver this to you all. I walked in and he pulled a random record, tracked it into ProTools, Looped it and I went right in the booth. We did this 6,7 times over. The plan (at the time) was to get Gorilla Funk Mob to play over the joints and drop it but we never got around to finishing out the project. "Foolin" was released as a single for an Atone' mixtape and that was that.
