Debuting on the SK-X series with another collaborative EP hot on the heels of their recent VOLTAGE Imprint release are Belgium’s Altinbas and Greece’s Cirkle. Blending nail-biting cuts of psychotic synth lines through sharp arrangements with dubbier mental atmospheres, the two guide us through a mastery of pragmatic club music. Holden’s third release on SK_Eleven, Dust,  showcases a striking evolution of his signature dark, driving sound. Rhythms are as urgent and rooted in the dancefloor as ever, but melodies have grown more haunting and emotive. This release sees Holden charting new sonic territory with two ambient tracks to open and close the record. Opener “Dust” brings melody and harmony to the foreground to set the emotional tone for the peak-time techno tracks that follow, while the closing track, “Frost,” ends the EP on a more hopeful note, its yearning melody disappearing into the mist beyond the sunlight.

Holden Federico - Dust [SK11X025]

Parisian-based producer and live artist dc11 specialises in modular synthesis, crafting deep and organic techno with rich, looping textures. 

Drawing inspiration from the hands-on manipulation of sound through toggling switches, as well as from artists like Mike Parker, Sandwell District, and Luke Slater, dc11 began his electronic music journey with the acquisition of a Teenage Engineering OP-1, where he first created ambient loops. Despite initially possessing limited knowledge of modular synthesis, his eagerness to explore has led to the development of a unique and atmospheric sound. dc11 is definitely an artist to watch!

This mix was recorded live from Reaktor's Katharsis event in 2017.  For those that don't know, Katharsis happens once a year and is dedicated to the faster, harder and more industrial side of techno.  This was my entire 3 hour set from that night.

Over the last few years we have built a steady relationship doing events together and sharing our passion for this music.  We are teaming up once again for ADE 2018 and releasing this mix as a thank you to all our followers and supporters.

Techno craftsman Andrei Morant holds a focus as sharp and abductive as his sound.  A paramount figure in the Houston underground since the early 90s, the North American artist also known as Jack Mackrel quickly established himself as a professional.  Morant started DJing in 1986, and only three years after his first gig in 1990, embarked on his production career.  Over 50 releases later, he is now recognized world round for his catalog of insurgent beats, and is featured on respected labels such as Planet Rhythm Records , Starkstrom Schallplatten, and Gynoid Audio.  Never faltering in his commitment to innovative techno, Morant unleashed a creature of his own machination - Scope Recordings.   His new label and recent production endeavors reflect his weighty history, as well as his knowledge of avant media and style, resulting in a finely tailored, powerful impression.
