This is a submission for the Scorbit Composing Contest 2014. It's a composition of 3 layers each 30 sec, looped together. The layers are the background music for the cover's cave art.

This orchestrated arrangement is my first attempt using Logic Pro X and high quality sample libraries!

I had to compose three thirty second original layers that looped. I was given art work by Alex Kintner titled "At Home in a Cave".

Scorbit: Layer 1

Fireflies - Simon Servida

This is my entry to Scorbit's first ever competition! It's a 30 second looping piece that increases in layers based on intensity until finally the full piece is intense.

I decided to make the layers have their own distinct areas, with the first layer being full of fantasy and childlike wonder, with the glockenspiel, and the violin. The second layer is militaristic, like a battle or a march towards the house. The final layer signifies danger or mystery, with bells, and a string quartet that plays discordant chords amongst the other pieces.

This is my contribution for the Scorbit Game scoring contest. This are 3 layers, all exactly 30 sec. long for looping. You can listen to the first layer, then to layers 1 + 2, and at least to layers 1 + 2 + 3.

Virtualant - The scorbit contest

This is a piece that I created for a contest - the idea was to create a set of music that went along with a painting that could be used in a video game. I saw the game as being very organic, so I created themes that settled into each other well without any one fading entirely into the background.

At Home in a Cave

This is a track I wrote for the 2014 Scorbit competition, based off of Alex Kinter's concept art by the same name. The track is a 30 second loop in three layers, and the linear mix you're listening to now starts with layer 1, then layer 2, then both layers 1 and 2, and then all three, and a brief tag on the end. The buzzing sound in the background is an insect sound I recorded in Duino, Italy last summer.
