Scorched Radio - ENTRY #016 (by Damon Grey)

Ghost Dance is a french producer freshly signed on two legendary labels : mau5trap (deadmau5) and Octopus (Sian). His touch is really something else : his warm, noisy sounds colored by a unique mastering chain. My favorite track of his is "Passage", with those deep sounds and dark ambiance. So here is the darkest set he can propose, for now. 

To the question, "why did you choose those specific tracks and what does that set means to you ?", my guest answers :

"I wanted to make a mix that reflects the period we are going through. Something dark, disturbing and sometimes even melancholy. Occasionally, a few notes of optimization, like a small glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel, appear. This mix is a mix of my productions, unreleased pieces, and timeless nuggets like 'LFO - Freaks' which ends this session. I hope you like it."

"So I chose each of these tracks because I think they best represent where I am musically right now in my life with 5302 Recordings. I've spent a lot of my time in Ibiza for both business and pleasure, and I always used to love sitting outside Cafe Del Mar or Cafe Mambo watching the sun set, listening to some amazing music while drinking some sangria and meeting friends from all around.  This is my selection for that moment in 2021."

The first ID is the second "goodish" track I ever made 3 years ago. The next track of mine is "Following Day" out next year which was a track that everybody loved, when I asked feedbacks. His own style caught my hears with time, having this "two radically different drops in one track" style I love now. "I think it nicely shows that you can't go full-on techno if you are on the progressive mood wave, so it never goes really dark for too long, switching back to more progressive vibes, and it results in pretty enthralling mix flow. The ending sequence of The Loop and Revolution into Roots is an explosive climax of such progressive and techno symbiosis."

Even If I usually prefer more melodic aspect of fast electronic dance music I can't deny that I like the energy and the dancefloor efficiency of less melodic stuff and more agressive sound design. So here you have a really dark side of me. It goes from Techno to UK Hardcore. Also you'll find some Trance in the main part from "Future Rave" to Tech-Trance. I also present you one homemade ID and other productions and mashup that I usually like to play when I want to bring a darker energy to my sets."
