Hello there, My name is Terry King and would like to contribute this song The meaning of life,  to the charity album. the song is my own material and was produced and mastered by paul wishart/mr wishart, the photo was taken by chris noble at kilmarnock fair fest. 
since the turn of 2011 i have been performing shows around ayrshire with some in  glasgow trying to break the Glasgow  Ayrshire music scene. I try to apply meaning towards my songs which is sometimes political or social. i describe my music as cleantone/acoustic with lyrical meaning and have recently had my songs featured on the Cheryl Scott radio show and will be appearing more on it soon as i will be taking part in the Ayrshire breaking radio slot soon. I also played the Kilmarnock fair fest recently and have played in other venues throughout Ayrshire and Glasgow.

Rachel Red & The Revolvers are a 3 piece band from Ayr, Scotland which consists of Rachel Red on Guitar/Vocals, Raz on Drums and Gordon on Bass. The red headed front woman was introduced to Raz through a bearded-bag-piping mutual friend, and started to perform together as a 2 piece. Then, Bassist and fellow Jack Daniel's drinker, Gordon, volunteered his musical genius-can-pick-up-any-instrument-and-play-it-ness to complete the line up. Forming in 2009, they have since been gigging in their home town of Ayr with performances at Ayr Town Hall, local pubs and clubs, The Septembayr festival, Oxjam festival, and Harley's Rockfests as they write and test out their songs while getting ready to make their first EP and to gig further afield. Influenced by the likes of Queens of The Stone Age and Spinnerette they aim to deliver alternative catchy rock songs with a feminine touch. Rachel Red writes the songs by interpreting through music what is happening in her life and what she's feeling at the time, whether it be good or bad. Its all a journey!

Rebel 69 – ‘Kiss Me!’ (Original demo version)

Established in the summer days of 2009, Rebel 69 has always been a strange mix of people, who really shouldn’t know each other let alone share a band together. That said some of music produced has been sublime, some inevitably has been shockingly bad. Such is the story with almost every band since Rock n Roll first hit the airwaves.

In our short but colourful history we have played many gigs in and around our home city of Glasgow. We have sent home many a happy audience, we have performed alongside many other quality Glasgow bands, and some downright terrible ones as well. Despite this we have constantly proved ourselves to be a genuine and respectful band, whether it is to our peers or our audiences, every Rebel 69 gig has been a celebration of the music, and the light it can bring into even the darkest of souls. We have only ever sought to enjoy ourselves whilst our audiences have a quality night out. Listening to our songs and watching us sometimes make a mess of it.

*The song that I have donated to this compilation CD is called Kiss Me! Recorded in November 2009 by the original Rebel 69, which consisted of Lynn Hogg - Vocals, Stephen Murphy - Lead Guitar, Neil Beatson – Bass, Kevin Baillie – Drums and Steevee Hughes – Rhythm Guitar. This has been selected from the Rebel 69 archives and will only ever be available on this compilation CD. I believe that from the various people have performed it, this version remains my personal favourite. I hope it and the other songs featured raise lots of funds for a very well worthy cause.

Jiezuberband are a 6 piece outfit from Scotland consisting of vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. The band started writing and playing in 2007, essentially as a classic rock band, but over the 3 years that have elapsed since that original musical vision they have evolved into a unique musical force that fuses retro and contemporary styles including Classical, Psychedelic Rock, Fusion, and elements of Acoustic folk and popular music. In shaking off the restraints of any one genre the bands music denotes freedom and an energy that only comes with creating music that is truly original.
 In the first year the band, finding their feet, played mostly local gigs in Glasgow and Ayrshire and released their first EP ‘Mile High Maniac’. 2008 saw the release of the bands second EP ‘Eternal Chaos’ and also cement its local status as pioneers of new music with a couple of wins in battle of the band competitions (local and national) and appearances at festivals such as Retrofest in Strathclyde park and Dunstaffnage Festival in Oban. The latter festival appearance also marked the bands first live radio set broadcast simultaneously on Clyde 2 FM and Oban FM.
The next year was one which the band intended to be solely aimed at writing and recording and a little band restructuring with the replacement of the bass player. This was mostly the case (the band played a couple of festivals in the summer despite not really wanting to play any gigs this year) and with the recording process of ‘Godma’ EP well under way by the end of the year it set the band up nicely for a successful subsequent year.
2010 has been a good year for the band. 3 support slots at Glasgows O2 Academy and O2 ABC have been followed by 6 UK festival appearances including 3 headline slots and Rock Radio recognition of the new EP ‘Designer Daydreams’. Two large UK festivals have already confirmed the band for 2011 performances on the strength of witnessing the band perform at two separate festivals in 2010. In May the band were invited to play the Camden Underworld venue in London as a showcase for Sony BMG amongst other interested parties. In May Jiezuberband went from a 5 piece to a 6 piece with the introduction of Clairey J on backing vocals enabling the band to achieve live the choir-like harmonies and soundscapes captured on record. At the end of July the band made its television debut for the new Scottish cultural show One Creative Scotland, filmed in Glasgows Tollhouse Studio and would go on to film another television pilot at Ivory Blacks, Glasgow, for TFTV (Internet + Channel 5)
Highlights of 2010 for Jiezuberband were appearances at Cockrock in Cockermouth on July 18th, Weyfest in Farnham on Sept 4th with Focus, Zombies, Seth Lakeman etc…. and Solfest on Aug 27th playing with James, The Wailers and The Damned. Headline slots at Clarence Park Music Festival, (Wakefield), Valentine Rock (Workington) and The Workhouse Festival, (Llanfyllan) were turning point shows which marked the emergence of the band as a force in the Sci Fi Rock genre.
Last week the band headlined a stage at The Galtres Festival in Yorkshire taking to the stage after The Charlatans and played to their largest crowd to date.

Biography	
Starting off playing the piano aged 7 Martin McLaughlan has always lived a very musical life. Being surrounded by a variety of instruments during his childhood, he decided to pick up the guitar aged 12. By the time he was 15 he had joined a band with some friends from the local “Rock School” however the band took a bad turn and Martin left to pursue other avenues.

Aged 16 he joined the band “Received” which had a RATM & Audioslave influence, the band continued for around a year when inner band issues caused the band to go their separate ways. Martin remained hopeful that another group of musicians would come along and get together to play the music that people wanted to hear, and in late 2005 after returning from a stint in Switzerland, Martin along with a few other created ATAYH. The band performed many shows together, and gathered a small fanbase which stretched along the west coast of Scotland. After a while Martin left the band to move to Edinburgh, after 3 years he returned and with the help of his now Fiancée he decided to go Solo.

He started writing some material, with the first song being “End Game”, “Reflections” followed soon afterwards. He started gigging around the local area with just one or two shows a month, however his popularity started to increase and he started getting offered shows every week, one week he performed at 9 shows.

In August 2010 he went into the studio to record his first EP “Microphones, Guitars and Jagerbombs” with Danny Paton of “The Underdog Theory”. The EP was released on October 2nd and sold out within 24 hours, a huge achievement for any local act in the Ayrshire Area.

He lists his influences as Dallas Green, Jon McLaughlin, Eric Clapton and local acts Little Fire and Dear Stars.
“Billy (Dear Stars) is a fantastic songwriter, and I just love watching him onstage, it’s the same with Jamie (Little Fire) I always look forward to being on the same line up as them”

House of Broken Dreams - Martin McLaughlan

Little Boxes aren’t exactly your usual Indie Band. In fact they aren’t even Indie. Coming towards you like a modern day Velvet Underground, this Edinburgh 5 piece have been a long time in the making.

Singer Ryder James originally met rhythm guitarist and founding member Hammy D’Afro when he joined the laters former band Enter Empyrean. Empyrean gradually changed members and brought together drummer David Paterson, Classical/Lead Guitarist Jenny Clifford and finally Bassist Jack Spilsbury. After some gigging under the former name it was decided by all since the bands roots and direction had changed, the name need to also. Little Boxes was chosen. It came from the 1962 Malvina Reynolds song of the same name. The songs anti conformist attitude seemed to also fit the five personalities within the band. It was done.

So with new material secured under the bands belt and fresh on the back from being voted winners in an Edinburgh Music festival, the band are out to continue their journey. Who knows where they will end up..

Harlequin- Little Boxes

Ryder James is a Singer/Songwriter based in Edinburgh. Hailing from the Isle of Lewis. he is the newest addition to the Freak Folk genre. Ryder’s solo debut album is due for release in October 2011. The Track “Empty bottle” is the first track being released from the album. It has received from notoriety from publications such as NME and The Skinny.

The Concept of gathering Scottish Unsigned Musicians / Producers / Photographers was an original idea by Thomas Lieser of Gypsy MOJO.

Thomas was successful in creating the first ever CD Glasgow Unsigned Volume 1, of which you can still purchase from Thomas for Yorkhill Hospital Charity I think we have 10 copies left.

All of our Scottish Artists who have kindly donated so far are from all over Scotland and not just Glasgow . 
This is just our title. 

Future Issues will have Scotland Unsigned in future.

During the planning and production of this CD and Due to personal reasons, Thomas was unable to help out with this CD and Martin Bone of MRB-one Photography has kindly took over the project. However Thomas is now back on board and will be doing some admin tasks and helping to promote and sell the CD.

The Charity Action against Pre- Eclampsia is a charity close to Thomas and his family and we are hoping to raise money to that charity through the sale of this CD which is being put together by Martin with teh help of the donating Musicains. This Charity was chosen by Thomas and we will consider other charities in the near future depending on the success of this project. 

This CD will be a double cased CD and will be created and produced/Artwork/Photography and printed by Martin using his own equipment and will initially be funded all by Martin.
