The Republic of Gatecrasher event held in June signified 10 years since the iconic venue in Sheffield known as the Republic and spiritual home to so many of the Gatecrasher faithful, tragically burnt to the ground. 

10 years on and the music still plays on! We all grew with the music from 1997 - 2007 and felt obliged to hold a commemorative party so as to celebrate those many joyous memories experienced at this momentous institution. Gatecrasher has always been about inclusion and was not only a tribute to all our regulars but also to those who never have had the opportunity to experience it first-hand.

In order to make this event unique, I wanted to try something different and completely out of my comfort zone! After many lengthy discussions, I made the conscious decision to go back to back with the entire main room lineup. From early doors until the final tune, everybody who attended was guaranteed a nostalgic, musical journey. 

Post-Republic of Gatecrasher blues and it was really pleasing to have received so many positive and thought provoking comments with regard to how musically diverse it actually was. I wholeheartedly agree and thought it necessary to share these wonderful sets. Just listening back, you'll be really hard pushed to find such a wide range/variety of Trance to encapsulate one night!!!

Many thanks go out to Paul Pearson, Guy Ornadel, Matt Hardwick, M.I.K.E. Push, Marco V, Matt Darey and DuMonde (JamX) who all contributed to this amazing event by joining me on this 9 hour adventure. Now you can too ;).

The wait is over!! Gatecrasher is now officially back at Area and better than ever! The return to our beloved Area nightclub was welcomed by all and hosted some of the best Trance music in the UK. 

My set showcased some iconic reworks which were first broken at Gatecrasher. These tunes ultimately were some of the building blocks which made the nights so special. I also had the opportunity to play a new release from Charlie Walker and I which is due to premier on Who's Afraid of 138?!later this month and has just been featured on Armin's "A State of Trance 2019" entitled "Scott Bond & Charlie Walker ft. Gatecrasher Pres. Baby Crasher was yet another roaring success at Area. It still amazes me that after all these many years, the number of familiar faces and the immense loyalty of the Gatecrasher faithful is still stronger than ever!! 

There's no doubt in mind that it's a competitive market out there for Trance with a myriad of challenges faced. Not only did we offer a quality lineup, but it's so pleasing from a promoter's perspective to see every DJ bring their A game on the night! Just reviewing the showcase of pictures and videos shared on social media will show how superb the production and musically brilliant Baby Crasher was. "It's like being in a film and living out the soundtrack".

I absolutely loved my set and features a vast array of select Trance material closing with my current tune of the moment "Scott Bond & Charlie Walker ft. Murica - Can You Hear The Sound". Be sure to check out this mix and hopefully there'll be some "what the ***k is that track?" moments, representative of the true Scott Bond style ;). "It's the music that does it, it's the music".
