Find Him

On Tuesdays I go to sit with my dear friend Harvey as his wife is out of the house. He is suffering in advanced stages of ALS. One day he looked up at me and said "I never planned on this". Later that day, I sat and watched as his wife June took care of him and I was struck with what love really looks like... I wrote the song that weekend right after my piano tuner paid a visit


He lingered in his last bed
this was never in his plans

What Love Looks Like

My wife bought me a weber mandolin for my 50th birthday. I was in my studio learning how to play it and recording my progress, soon, I decided to turn it into a song. I walked out of the studio to learn that some maniac (who will remain nameless), had shot up the Virginia Tech campus, and killed several students. I did not want him to receive any more FaceTime. so he is nameless in the song and history has forgotten him. I wanted the song to have legs long after he was forgotten. So when we see new wars and atrocities 
Play out in the present, somehow this song might still resonate… I played all instruments and vocals… young Ben Marino played the drums
