Hey Timujin, great to speak to you and hope you had a lovely Xmas and New Year with your family :) 

Where did you spend the holidays?

I went to Nambia with family and friends over the holidays, it was a very lovely time to be together of course

We’ve been a big fan of yours for a while, and a huge fan of your Earthly Delights and trueColors labels. When signing a track, what is it in particular you look for that makes you think this is going to be a hit?

We dont think about hits, it's not our objective to select them, we are collaborating and helping artists that we believe in. They do their best in expressing themselves, we produce and promote their talent. 

And where do you go to when you’re looking for inspiration for one of your productions?

Producing music is a very intimate process for me, so everything that I go through is helping me to create music I believe. 

Can you tell us about the mix you’ve done for us today? Talk us through what you were thinking when you were doing it?

If you're familiar with my music, I like to create different storylines within my sets, this one I believe is 'Dark and Fun’.

And what exciting plans do you have currently for 2019? Any big goals you are aiming to achieve for the next year?

I’m working on my first album, and bringing a lot of good music through both our labels! A really exciting year ahead for sure :)

Back with a second installment of my favorite downtempo/world electronic tunes of the moment: Valparaiso. 

Valparaiso is a city on the Pacific coast of Chile. I spent a day there in November, and had several epiphanies while walking the painted-fill streets that were once home to Pablo Neruda. Ironically, unknowingly it was a day that would mark permanent life changes back home for me. This set is a reflection of the feelings I have from that day. Hope you enjoy.

To begin with, what most enchants us about artists is the ability to relate different worldly perspectives. And here, we present the music enthusiast, engineer and DJ Ezio Aguiar. Growing up in Sao Paulo, he spent over a year in 2016 exploring Germany and also reaching some corners of Europe, at that time he's rediscovered an old passion for dancing. Two years later, started his master in renewable energies and has been living in Berlin ever since. Believing in the deeply cathartic and connective power of music, Ezio has been willing to connection it with ways of combating climate change , at least in the short term, he's started to run fundraisers to support organizations and networks who are doing renewable energy and reforestation projects — as Up2green in the Amazon or Greening Africa Together which he's personally involved with. Every effort counts. Then, using music as a channel that empower those who have an average understanding of the crisis and who are looking for practical and realistic solutions, he aligns alternatives and awareness.

Our 166th edition was recorded and mixed on a balcony with a view to the ocean during his visit in Brazil over the end of December 2019. During almost 59 minutes, Ezio treats us to the very best percussive surprises, articulating the introductory track as inspiration to create his contribution to IST series, running it with maturity, refinement and a confident synergy. While somehow the mixtape will certainly induce nostalgia, the energy level remains untouchable and the sub frequencies greet the ears, all surrounded by his high-flying intentions. Is there something else to say?

Musik ist meine Heimat

Mein Alleinsein wird durchbrochen von maßgeschneiderten Frequenzen. Der wohlklingende Schall legt sich wie eine warme Decke auf mein Gehör. Negativität, Anspannung und Belastungen sämtlicher Art perlen von mir ab wie ein 
Sturzbach, der sich durch sein Flussbett katapultiert. Regentropfen benetzten meine Kleidung und Haut, doch mein Herz glüht unter den Flammen der akustischen
Freuden. 
Musik beschert mir Unabhängigkeit. Musik offeriert mir meine Freiheit auf dem Silbertablett. Musik ist und bleibt meine Heimat auf immer da.

Monkeyman feiert mit diesem Set seine Podcast und KataHaifisch Premiere. Dementsprechend groß war die Vorfreude und das Ergebnis verschlägt einem glatt die Sprache. Die unzähligen musikalischen Einflüsse, Rhythmen und verschiedenen Melodien entführen den Hörer ohne Zwischenstopp in ein auditives Schlaraffenland. Die unbeschreiblich große Liebe zur Musik pulsiert in jeder Sekunde aus diesem Prachtexemplar.
