This is a song about our government's failure to take steps to address systemic racism, which is so deeply ingrained in our institutions. There's particular focus in this song on our justice system as that is an area I'm familiar with.

This is a WIP home recording. It's a rough mix. There are no backing vocals recorded yet or any sort of compression. I may include a short guitar solo in the bridge right before the vocals come in. 

Lyrics:

Verse 1: 
Prejudice tainted your judgment again
You acted on colour of skin
Don't use tired tactics to hide and dismiss

That your bias exists

Safe Haven - Kelly Gates - WIP - 2021 - 09 - 17

This is a song I did in 2003 to demo the Microkorg to some people who were asking about it. Every sound was created with the Microkorg. I didn't spend a lot of time on it so it's mostly a collection of basic chord patterns, and I didn't go back and fix all my timing errors etc so it's far from perfect any way you look at it. But since we were discussing it on Reddit I thought I'd dig this out and post it.

This is a song I wrote for my mom on Mother's Day - May 10, 2020. She is a nurse and I wanted to do something special for her during this time. I am grateful for everything she did as a mother my whole life, but am also grateful for the sacrifices she has made and continues to make as a nurse.
