Originally aired on EagleRadio.pro this is my 2023 Pride Mix - CHOSEN FAMILY. The tracks are primarily new but I've thrown in a few classic tracks that should give you an 'Awww' moment to make you feel warm and fuzzy. As we all know these are difficult times, but of all of the arts I believe music is the one that sinks into your brain and memory and can help you feel like there are many many things to be grateful for. If you need any sign of that, just take a moment at sundown, look up into the sky at the moon and the stars, and remember that very few species have ever had that view, we are incredibly special, and even in our darkest times, we've always turned to music to express ourselves and our hope. I dedicate this PRIDE mix to my Chosen Family. The lyrics of 'Chosen Family', sung on this production by Shauna Jenson, were originally written by Jonny Lattimer, Daniel Harle, Rina Sawayama, and later Elton John teamed up with Rina to do a duet and add piano tracks.

Joy and Happiness - Flag Alley 5 - Happy Vocal House

Two of my favorite music artists singing the same song at completely different times of their lives.  Bonnie Raitt made the original back in 1991 and I always wanted to remix it.  Then I remembered how George Michael did his version in 1997 and thought maybe I could put the two together...

This is the end result.

In support of your badassery (is that even a word?), I have a classics-heavy November mix.  

The world is complicated right now, and the days are getting longer in the northern hemisphere. If you are feeling a little down...consider this a musical prescription to boost your mood 🙂.

There's a lot going on in this mix - some energetic house, some vocal dance, and a fair dose of electro-pop.  (Of note is a 2023 remaster of the JRMX Club Mix of Jessica Sutta's 2013 hit, 'Again' - too good to be forgotten!).  The focus here was the theme rather than new tracks.  Hope it hangs together!

My wish for all of this month is that we embrace our inner badass - not the sort that places us above others, but rather just confidence in knowing our strengths and weaknesses.  (It's ok. Really!)

Welcome to my corner of the internet where I offer journeys through sounds that move your soul.   

A little history....In the 90's I spun at Tracks (DC), March (Atlanta), The Eagle (Atlanta), The Gray Party (Houston) 119 Merrimack (Boston) and once at The Spike (NYC) during Pride.   Playing gigs and working at record stores was not paying the bills so I put the turn tables away, went back to school and got steady work, and benefits, in IT support.   

In 2009 I moved to Hull, MA and in 2013, got involved with Hull Pride (hullpride.net).  Started spinning again digitally at our events a few times a year and loving this little sea side town just outside of Boston.   In the summer of 2021 as we came out of the pandemic, The Alley Bar, Boston, invited me to spin so this presented the opportunity to be more free on what I enjoy playing but still pleasing the crowd with house, disco, EDM, and Tech House.
