Part Of Me

I grew up singing as much as I could.  In my house, hallways of high school, waiting tables, in my car, to my wife and kids…probably anyone willing to listen. I pursued a career in music from about 15 years old until about 30.  Over the years I was blessed to work with a lot of talented people, many of whom have gone on to make major impacts in the music industry. Around 1997, I was working with a producer from NY.  He linked me up with artist/songwriter/producer, London Jones, who flew in from LA to produce a track for me.  London Jones….a massively talented & great human being.  When I got to NY, I recorded “For You” with London…Instant musical connection & friendship would be the best way to describe he & I.  I left NY that morning with, what I felt, was THE best song I had ever recorded at that time & never before had I felt so close to breaking into the industry.  I got home as fast as I could to play “For You” for my girlfriend Kacey, who is now my wife, by the way, my Mom & Dad, sister & brothers & anyone else who would hear it.  No doubt everyone felt I was on my way. There was just something whole & complete about working with London that made me feel like it was essential that he & I continued to work together.  I made the decision to travel to LA to work with London from May - November of 1998.  During that time, we made amazing & quality music & truly felt we were on the brink!  23 years later & somehow I still feel the music sounds fresh.  That was without question one of the greatest moments of my life.  Surrounded by talent everywhere I looked.  Artistry, musicality & camaraderie in all of the walls of the famous & historic Backroom Studio where we worked day & night.  The Backroom was filled with major talent & big names in the industry seemed to come through at all times of the day. Unfortunately if you look for it today you won’t find it.  It was was torn down thanks to “The Americana At Brand” located in Glendale, CA, that now sits on top of it.  Now all of these years later although blessed with a successful marriage & 4 beautiful daughters my love for music & what “could have been” still burns within. Recently my wife found my music & had it “burned” to CD.  The “DAT’s” from which they originated, still intact but with some “glitches” in the music here & there.  Still crisp & fresh after all of these years.  We attempted to upload it to ITunes for friends & family to enjoy but had problems.  So here I am…sending it to SoundCloud.  Music is made to be listened to.  We create in hopes that people will hear & enjoy it.  I hope that you hear our music, now 23 years old itself, &enjoy it as much as I do.
