A man who's certainly no stranger to Good Custard, The Discography Lesssons head honcho - Ben Banjo Field joins us on the mixtapes this week! 

Hailing from Devon and now residing in Cardiff, Ben Banjo Field has always had a passion for music.

After suffering a cardiac arrest back in 2011, his friends and family clubbed together to get him an iPad to help him through the coming months in hospital, where he downloaded a DJing app, music helping him through the tough times. Since then he has gone from strength to strength in the industry.

Ben's “Beach Bar Beats” mixes have gained 65k views on YouTube, and during the 2020 lockdown he created “The Discography Lessons” to help promote overcoming mental health challenges through music. The project has been support by DJs from all over the world including Lenny Fontana, Ladies From Mars, Michael Gray, Doctor Feelgood, Da Lukas, Yam Who? and many more.

You can hear his “Drive Time Disco” show every Friday at 4pm on Broke FM, where he has been a resident DJ for the last 12 months.

Monthly mix series where I invite one of my DJ mates drop into The Shack and play some tunes.

First up is fellow 4Play resident Everybody Luvs Alf. Alf has been DJing since he was 14 when he bought his first set of vinyl decks and a 2 channel mixer. Alf treated us to a magical 2 hours of disco infused house which definitely hit the spot.

His infamous Shack parties and Saturday Social nights at Club 69 have become the stuff of legend, capturing the true spirit and energy of the underground scene. HMH tries to bring that same vibe and creativity to each and every set he plays. With releases on Whartone Records and DJ Mes's US based Guesthouse Music, HMH is no stranger to music production, but it's on the decks, playing to an up for it party crowd, that he feels right at home.
