(some of you will understand the wordplay... hint: there is a steak called Chateaubriand) My memory is usually not that bad. But somehow the vision into the years from 1994 to 1998 is quite blurry. I think it has to do with the hits from the bong. Here are some bits that I remember well. Most of them are not really official hits, some of them actually give me shivers ... all below 90 bpm! Taken off of 'Nightfall', the solo production album by Gadget﻿ which consists of thirteen fine crafted instrumentals produced as a result of often being inspired by the cosy feeling of the night and the "bright lights in the big city" of London. Each track was made during a time period when Gadget felt most motivated and focused on his craft around this particular time of the day. 

This project features one or two fan favourites and a couple of tracks which were leaked as previews, all of which have been revisited, fine tuned and topped off with brand new head nodding Hip Hop straight out of the 'Audio Dojo' where Gadget aka Dirty Thumbs gets busy. 

Expect to be taken on a ride through realms and moods that are dark, funky, hard hitting, uplifting, spiritual, melancholic, jazzy and even a little bashy, but always very Hip Hop.

Music From Mullets #24 starts into 2025 with two hours dedicated to Ambient and New Age, maybe with a little folky, sometimes even spiritual impact. The second hour comes with a guest mix straight from the bin @growingbinrecords –– Basso has been a musical inspiration since many many years and lots of his early YT uploads are still some of my long-time favorite records. This is gonna be an episode to either stretch out on your yoga mat or curl up next to your cat. It will gently massage your eardrum.

"27" is track 2 on Heather's Hill's album "Leuty Station". It was written by Heather Hill and Orville Heyn.  The track was produced by Orville Heyn. Players include: Heather Hill on vocals, Russ Boswell on bass, Eddie Paton on guitars and Paul DeLong on drums, Meg Contini, Jill Harris and Lydia Persaud as back-up vocals. 

At the time this song was written, Amy Winehouse had just died at age 27. Over 50 talented musicians who died before her also belong to the “27 Club”. 27 explores the rise of a strong female artist. Under the pressure of fame, she experiences many trials and great uncertainty. But where there is uncertainty, there is also hope. 

Punchy contemporary do-op meets alt rock in this quirky, infectious tune.
