Midnight Pie

10 o’clock in the morning 
I’m waiting for my homemade pie
Standing here in the kitchen 
But he didn’t even say goodbye

My sweet baby used to make me 
My favorite apple pie each day  

Well she waited so long and decided to take out her mama’s recipe book. And she said 
“you know what?” “What?”

“I’m going to make my own damn pie” “Aha!”
And by this time it was about midnight,
You know the stars were shining and Berlin was sleeping.
And she, she couldn’t wait until the morning 
And you know it’s never too late to bake the

Sweet and delicious, those apples taste 
better than his kisses
Warm is the oven, so is my heart 
This pie for one will taste so sweet and tart
So I’m baking and creating this pie for me alone

So we cut the apples and put them in a pan and we simmer them nice and low.
And then we add a little honey and some cinnamon And we stir them sweet and low.
And now Lila, how do we make the crust? 
You know that homemade pie crust is just a must.
 
Mix the flower and the water and the butter and an egg,
Don’t forget the pinch of salt and it’s ready for the pan.
Kneed that doe and let him go 
Stick it in the oven and soon you’ll get that

Told You Once

@ScottHildebrand and @LilaDespoix are an acoustic duo based in Berlin. They met busking in the streets of Berlin in spring 2019, during Scott’s street performing show. Since then, they have recorded an EP and performed all over Germany, France, Italy and Sri Lanka.

Their feel-good music warms the hearts of listeners and fuses Blues, Jazz and Motown feels with a fresh modern twist.

Scott Hildebrand is a Singer-Songwriter from Chicago, USA and has released 6 singles and two EPs. He’s a multi-instrumentalist primarily playing guitar and harmonica heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, The Beatles and many of the Blues greats. 

Scott has busked and played shows in countless cities spanning five continents, and has performed in clubs, bars, and music festivals such as the legendary FRL Festival in Australia, eight Sofar Sounds shows in different cities around the globe, as well as the beachside venues of Guatemala, Sri Lanka and India. Scott travels the world absorbing inspiration and sharing his music.

Scott’s rendition of the 1960s anti-war classic, “Eve of Destruction” was used in Hollywood movie, THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7.

Actor Chris Hemsworth featured Scott’s song Ready to Fly in his  instagram video. This video was broadcasted on BBC and other major global media outlets. 

Lila Despoix is a Paris born, Berlin raised singer, whose voice captivates her listeners. She was raised on Jazz classics, Blues and Pop. Lila’s voice is a modern fusion of tradition and freshness. 

She sang lead with The United BigBand, a 25 member group. With The United BigBand, Lila won the international contest “Jugend Jazzt” in Frankfurt, 2018.
